Verse of The Day : Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. Matthew 2:1-2

Thought of The Day : If you’re not seeking Jesus Christ, it’s because you’re not wise enough to know Him.

LISTEN : Wise people would not hesitate to seek Jesus Christ. If you’re too big to seek Jesus Christ, then, you’re too blinded to see him. You can’t find Christ unless you seek him with all your heart. That’s what wise people do. The Bible says,

You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 29:13

When Jesus Christ was born, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem in search of him. In their search for King Jesus, they asked a specific and thought – provoking question. They asked, “Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him” (Matthew 2:1-2). They came with ultimate aim to worship and acknowledge him as one from God Almighty. They sought him and eventually found him – the Emmanuel; Master of the universe; the King with a humble birth but great destiny; the one whose kingdom has no end; the Lamb and the Lion all together in one; the Ancient of Days; the light and life of men; the way, the truth and the life; the Saviour of humanity; the Word of God; hope of the righteous; the Gift of God. His essence and titles are endless. Those who seek him with all their heart would find him, and those who found him should surrender their time, talents and treasures to him. Beloved, if you’re not seeking Jesus Christ, it’s because you’re not wise enough to know who he really is. Besides, your life is not yet driven by the fear of God. In fact, the first proof of wisdom is the fear of God. The Bible says,

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Proverbs 9:10

Beloved, how much do you love Jesus Christ? How much of your time, talents and treasures do you worship God with? Like the three wise men, how passionate are you to encounter the eternal King and his kingdom? Where is your wisdom? Lack of wisdom is seen in disloyalty and irreverent conducts toward God. Beloved, stop chasing frivolities and begin to search for the King of kings and the LORD of Lords until you find him. Be wise!

What Should We Do With This Message?
1. Seek God by embracing His son Jesus Christ.
2. Determine to search for Christ Jesus with all your heart and serve Him for the rest of your life.
3. Determine to serve God with your time, talents and treasures.
4. Don’t pay allegiance to any other gods. Rather, render to God your unreserved worship.

Prayer : Dear LORD, I thank You for grace to seek Your Son Jesus Christ. You found me when I was lost. Therefore, I will serve You with my time, talents and treasures, in Jesus ’ name, amen!

A Word Of Blessing : Receive wisdom and understanding to seek out the purpose of God for your life. Henceforth, may your love for God grow and continue to grow, in Jesus ’ name, amen!

Reflection : The first proof of wisdom is the fear of God. Hence, we fail the test of true wisdom when we lack fear of God.
