Verse Of The Day : You shall have no other gods before me. Exodus 20:3

THOUGHT OF THE DAY : God is insulted and angered when gods are worshipped as God.

LISTEN : Gods, desire worship from their devotees, but the Almighty God warns, “You shall have no other gods before me.” (Exodus 20:3). Worship is an exclusive right of God, and when you worship Him you glorify Him (Psalms 50:23). Every genuine worship to God is glory given to Him and He will reward the worshipper. My dear, worship belongs to God. God is supreme! He is the creator of the universe, hence, should be revered by all. (Luke 4:8). We should accord Him the honour that is due Him, for He is insulted and angered when gods are worshipped as God. His glory must not be given to another. We must not offer reverence or devote our respect to things that are not God – money, fame, beauty, power, humans, etc. Nothing is worthy of God’s glory other than God Himself. This is why He warned the Israelites and we by extension, against worshipping other gods. God’s commandment to them was to worship Him alone. That is, they must not worship any other god. When people worship other gods other than the living God, He is provoked. God does not take it lightly when He is denied of His honour and glory. He is provoked when something else takes the first place in our hearts. Beloved, is God the first in your life? If He is not, What has taken the place of God in your heart? Whatever takes the place of God in your heart has caused you to enthrone Satan instead of God. Beloved, remember that worship belongs to God and be prepared to give Him His place in your life. When God is given the first place in your life, He will give you a place in His plans. Be wise!

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO WITH THIS MESSAGE?
1. Determine to give God the first place in your life.
2. Worship and honour God with all your heart no matter what.
3. Do not provoke God by serving other gods, instead, serve Him alone.
4. Acknowledge God as supreme and the creator of the universe.

Prayer : Eternal Father, You are supreme and mighty. You created the world by your wisdom. Help me to acknowledge, revere and worship you as my God, amen.

Reflection : No one is worthy of worship other than God Himself; hence, to worship other gods in His place is to invite His wrath.

Quote : “Worship is an exclusive right of God, and when you worship Him you glorify Him, and when you glorify Him He blesses you.”

Faith Confession : Today, I confess that God alone is worthy of worship. Therefore, I will serve and worship Him as long as I live, amen.

Bible Verse : Bless the Lord oh my soul and all that is within me bless his Holy name. Bless the Lord oh my soul and forget not all His benefit… and tender mercies Psalms 103:1–4

LISTEN: The meaning of life cannot be discovered until we acknowledge God. When we acknowledge Him, we would deeply and consistently reflect on what He has done for us. Regularly reflecting on the mighty works of God in the universe, will open our eyes to the true meaning of life; and such knowledge would trigger a heart of praise to God. Beloved, no matter the pain, affliction, sorrow, misfortune you may go through in this life, there is still enough reasons to be grateful to God for His goodness. Let us bless the name of the LORD because through Him we have protection, deliverance, provisions, healing, forgiveness, salvation, comfort in trials, wisdom, understanding, peace, etc. No matter what we have done or achieved for ourselves, God is the one who made all things possible. Beloved, in spite of the ordeals we experience in life, we should not be blinded to the countless blessings of God in our lives. Therefore, like David, let us begin to bless the LORD today for all his benefits to us. Let us praise Him with affection and gratitude. (Psalms 92:1). Be wise!

Prayer : Dear LORD, I acknowledged all Your goodness to me. Therefore, I will serve and worship You forever, amen.
