Verse of The Day : And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
Thought of The Day : Faith in God stabilises our hearts and minds; but fear cripples it.
LISTEN : A restless mind is a confused mind. Life gradually loses value and directions when confusion is allowed to prevail in our lives. When the heart is troubled and tension persists, life is in danger. In a confused state anything can happen; because, when you can’t think right you can’t act right. Beloved, watch your heart! People open themselves up for troubles when their hearts are troubled. This is why it’s important that you guard your mind with all you’ve got. The Bible says,
“Above everything else guard your heart, because from it flow the springs of life.“
Proverbs 4:23 (ISV)
My dear, it’s your responsibility to guard your heart. It’s clearly visible today that, around the world, besides natural disasters, people are experiencing incessant violence; unrest, kidnapping, ritual killing; rape, corruption, terrorism and all manner of crime. Horrible and terrible things are happening around our neighbourhoods and the world at large. There seems to be no solutions from no where. However, we can free our minds of confusion and tension when we allow God to speak to us through His infallible word. The peace of God can still rule in our hearts when we allow His word to rule our hearts by faith. Jesus said,
“Let not your hearts be troubled : believe in God, and believe also in me.”
Our faith in God is the cure we have for the troubles we are facing in the world. No matter the troubles we face, they will fizzle out by reason of our faith in the living God. No matter the circumstance, we can always find peace in the midst of troubles. Therefore, rather than worry and complain about any situations, let us follow the recommendations of the LORD. The Bible says,
“Never worry about anything. Instead, in every situation let your petitions
be made known to God through prayers and requests, with thanksgiving.“
Philippians 4:6 (ISV)
Beloved, to experience peace of mind, pray and have faith in God. Tell God your problems and thank Him for answers even as you wait for it. It is this prayer of faith and your gratitude to God that would release His peace into your heart. Our verse of the day says, “And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7). Henceforth, don’t allow your heart to be troubled, instead, let the peace of God reign in your life. Be wise!
