GOD OWNS YOUR BODY

Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 1 Corinthians 6:19

THOUGHT OF THE DAY : We are answerable to God in everything because, He owns us and everything about us.

LISTEN : We are nothing without God. We owe our lives to Him. Whether you believe in the existence of God or not, it does not change the fact that you belong to God. Therefore, God wants you to live with the consciousness that He is the owner of your life by serving Him all your life. (Ecclesiastics 12:1). You must realise that you are nothing without Him, and should make Him the centre of your life. Sadly, lots of people have failed to acknowledge God in their lives; instead, they have attributed His mercy and goodness to things that are not God. Beloved, do you acknowledge God as the owner of your life? Surely, the height of foolishness and ungratefulness is to reject, neglect and question God as your creator. The Bible says, “Fools says to themselves, ‘there is no God.‘ They sin and commit evil deeds; none of them does what is right” (Psalms 14:1). My dear, as believers in Christ Jesus, we must not forget that the Spirit of God lives in us and we are not our own? (1 Cor. 6:19). Our body is holy and should not be offered to sin. When you yield your body to sin, you have chosen the path of destruction. Brethren, we should strive to be spiritually-minded and not carnally-minded. Yes, this is not time to lose touch with the Holy Spirit, but time to deepen your relationship with Him. Henceforth, let us acknowledge the Lordship of Jesus Christ over our lives and learn to live to the glory of God, because we are bought with a price, even the blood of Jesus Christ (v.20). Be wise!

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO WITH THIS MESSAGE?
1. You owe your life to God; therefore, glorify Him with your life.
2. Mind what you do with your body and life generally, because you belong to God.
3. Never live as though everything depends on you. Rather live, knowing that everything depends on God.
4. Do not reject or despise God, instead, accept and revere Him as your God.

Prayer : Eternal God, I thank you because you created the heavens and earth, and everything in them. My life belongs to you therefore, help me to glorify you with my life, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Reflection : It is unfair not to acknowledge God in our lives; and evil, to attribute His goodness to things that are not God.

Quote : “The height of foolishness is to both reject God as creator of the universe and doubt His existence.”

Faith Confession : Today, I acknowledged and confess that I belong to God. Henceforth, I would use my body to the glory of His name, amen.

Biblical Fact : Did you know Abraham takes another wife called Keturah after the death of Sarah? (Genesis 25 :1)

Today In History : July 13, 1971 The Army of Morocco executes 10 leaders accused of leading a revolt.

Stunning Fact : Did you know a jellyfish is 95% water?

A Word Of Blessing : It is well with you. Today I speak on your life. You are blessed! May your life serve God’s purpose at all times, in Jesus’ name, amen.

EVENING

TOPIC : GOD KNOWS YOUR NEEDS

Monday, July 13, 2020

Bible Verse : But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Phil. 4:19

LISTEN: “God shall supply all your needs.” It sounds impossible, right? Beloved, God is our Father and Provider. He knows what we need, and will give it to us. No reasonable father will leave his children destitute. He will care and provide for them. In the same way, God does the same thing and much more to us His people. God has given us the assurance of divine provision. If we can ask Him for it He will supply us with the necessary provisions. (Matthew 7:7,8). We must learn to trust Him with our daily needs and be confident that He will not forsake us. His supply includes all our needs, not just some needs. God is the source of all good gifts and provisions. (James 1:17). So, stop worrying about what to eat, drink or wear, instead, trust God to honour the works of your hands, and bless you with divine provisions and protection. Be wise!

Prayer : Dear LORD, I thank you because You know my need. I will trust in You always, amen.
