Verse Of The Day : Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. James 5:13
Thought of The Day : The power of prayer is stronger than the pressure of worry.
LISTEN : The prevalence of troubles of life has made worry seems inevitable. People tend to worry more and pray less. Worry is responsible for some health conditions and lack of peace of mind. Worry leaves our minds unsettled, and make our body unfit to confront our challenges. What does it mean to worry? It means to think about problems or fears: to feel or show fear or concern because you think that something bad has happened or could happen. My dear, worry reduces the voice of faith and increases the voice of fear. It closes the ears to the voice of God and opens them to the voice of Satan; it blinds the eyes to the promises of God and opens them to the lies of the devil. Therefore, when you’re faced with trials, you should rather spend your time in prayer and not waste it on worries. Time spent on prayer is a time well spent; but time spent on worry is a waste of time and energy. My dear, the arrival of problems is not an invitation to worry, panic, depression or fear; but a call to pray and to grow more and more in faith. The Bible says,
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
When trouble comes, it is time to come to God and not time to run away from Him. Beloved, your passion for prayer should rise with your troubles. When your hunger for prayer grows, your faith in God in times of troubles will certainly grow. My dear, time of trouble is time for prayer and not time for worries. The power of prayer is stronger than the pressure of worry. So, learn to spend time in prayer and don’t waste it on worry. Remember, prayer subdues worries. Be wise!
