Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : So Judas took the money and threw it into the temple courtyard. Then he went away and hanged himself. Matthew 27:5 (UST).

Thought of The Day : Life could be rough some times; it could throw you on stones and get you injured. But never let a stumble in the road be the end of the journey.

LISTEN : When confusion grows, temptation to do something stupid grows with it. However, you must determine to overcome your challenges no matter what. Friend, to survive pressures of life you must be prepared at all times to clear your head of confusion. Beloved, stand on the platform of faith and the devil will be helplessly defeated. The Bible says,

For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.

1John 5:4

If you can wait a little longer you will surely outlast your troubles. Judas Iscariot hanged himself because he felt suicide was the solution to his problem (sin). If he had waited like Peter , who in – spite -of denying Christ believes God can forgive him, he may have been forgiven too. Beloved, what pressure are you going through right now? Are you already considering suicide? Please stop! Suicide doesn’t take away the pain, it gives it to someone else (family members, friends, loved ones, spouse, etc). Job experienced hell in his days yet, he refused to give up on life. He trusted God and therefore declared,

If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.

Job 14:14

My dear, don’t give up! Couple of months ago, I told a story about a Pastor who decided to commit suicide because of his nagging wife. One day, when his wife and children were still asleep, he woke up and headed to the river to drown himself. As he was walking along, he heard a voice from behind, laughing at him “ha-ha-ha” and said, “Look at him, he called himself a Pastor but he can’t endure afflictions.” The Pastor turned around to see who was talking, and was shocked to find out that a mad man was the one talking to him; he ignored him and moved on. As he was approaching the river the mad man spoke again and said, “Look at him, a Pastor who wants to drown himself because of problems. Between the two of us, who is the mad man? I have a problem but I never wish to kill myself like you fool. Why do you want to kill yourself? Go back home and face your problems with faith.” As he turned to confront the mad man, he saw no one. Immediately, he changed his mind and hurriedly returned home. Brethren, let’s judge God faithful and He will handle our troubles. Be wise!
