Author: Bishop Julius Okarike
Verse Of The Day : “You naïve ones, how long will you love naiveté? And how long will scoffers delight in scoffing or fools hate knowledge?” Indeed, the waywardness of the naïve will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them. Proverbs 1:22, 32 (ISV).
Thought of The Day : Fools are known by their bankruptcy of knowledge, wisdom and understanding.
LISTEN : The naïve hates and despises knowledge. He or she fails to realise that, naivety is the doorway to nothingness. The way to be nothing is to do or know nothing. As a matter of fact, you can’t sail with the ship of foolishness and expect to arrive at the shore of wisdom. My dear, don’t be naïve, wise up! The Dictionary defined naivety as lack of experience, wisdom, or judgment. In this contemporary world, what can you achieve with lack of experience, wisdom, or judgment? No one has ever done anything worthwhile without the trio (experience, wisdom, judgement). The trio are products of knowledge. Knowledge is facts, information, and skills acquired through experience, observation or education. Beloved, embrace knowledge and don’t hate it. He who hates knowledge hates excellence, honour and glory. The Bible says,
“The wise shall inherit glory : but shame shall be the promotion of fools.”
Fools cannot escape the chastisement of folly – shame, pain and sorrow. No one can be successful whose mind is buried in the soil of worthlessness; because of the catastrophe and dangers associated with folly, God commands us to eschew it. The Bible says,
“… the waywardness of the naïve will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them.”
Proverbs 1:22, 32
Beloved, acquire knowledge, especially, Knowledge of God. Make it a lifelong project. It will transform and preserve you. But when you reject and despise knowledge you have chosen the path of destruction (Hosea 4:7). Be wise!
