Verse Of The Day : For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. 2 Corinthians 4:17
Thought of The Day : As believers, what we are destined to enjoy in the long run, outweighs what we suffer in the short run.
LISTEN : No pain that’s endured for the sake of Christ is a waste. Those who endured pain for Christ will enjoy gains at last. No matter what we suffer, our miseries would soon be over, for our earthly crisis will not cross over with us to eternity. Christ is the end of our crisis, and the beginning of our glory. Therefore, no matter what we suffer presently, we would win despite the wounds and scars of earthly battles. Beloved, you can fulfill your purpose in life if you refuse to give up. In deep agony Job said,
“If a man die, shall he live again?
all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.“
Job 14:14 (KJV).
Beloved, lots of things may want to stop you but don’t give up or give in. Never allow afflictions to stop you. No matter the amount of pain and suffering, don’t give up! Life both teaches and tortures us at the same time. Sometimes life is made better by the lesson we learned from it; other times our hearts are made bitter or broken by the same life. As a matter of fact, we both learn and suffer from life’s circumstances. But the good news is that, as a true child of God, no matter what you suffer in this life, it is just a light affliction compared to the glory you will receive for believing in Jesus Christ. Our verse of the day says,
“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment,
works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.”
2 Corinthians 4:17
Beloved, no one is immune to this ‘light affliction’, but as children of God, we are fortified by our faith in Him. My dear, your strength in time of trouble is your faith in God. When you operate in faith you will swim in strength. No affliction is too powerful to paralyse the power of faith. Yes! Faith will keep you firmly footed when the storm of life is raging, and would keep you standing when it is over. Henceforth, be strong and know that your pain, heartbreak, hardship, sorrow, trials, sickness, rejection, persecution, etc. are just temporary. So, never allow affliction to stop you. Be wise!
