Verse Of The Day : Let favor be shown to the wicked, yet he will not learn righteousness. In the land of uprightness he will deal wrongfully, and will not see the LORD’s majesty. Isaiah 26:10 (NHEB)
Thought of The Day : The wicked never see any good in a favour, but sees yet another opportunity to wreck havoc.
LISTEN : Humans have the propensity for evil. They are very natural with wickedness. Despite the redemptive work of Christ Jesus on the cross, lots of people are still addicted to evil. They have liking for it, but contempt for goodness and righteousness. They enjoy wickedness. As a matter of fact, they hate righteousness. To them, righteousness does not exist. They are desperately wicked. When they receive a favour, rather than appreciate it, they use the favour received as a weapon to hurt the giver. In fact, to them, wickedness is a normal way of life. The truth is, wickedness discourages people from being good to others. However, as believers in Christ we must keep doing good to others. The Bible says,
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap,
if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good
unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”
My dear, do you think kindness is not worth it? Have you made decisions to stop doing good to people? Please think again! God wants you to behave differently. He wants you to be godly and God-fearing. Never expect everyone to be nice to you the same way you are to them. Don’t forget that, lots of people have sold their souls to the devil. Therefore, no matter your goodness and love to them, they will want to pay you evil for good. Our verse of the day says,
“Let favor be shown to the wicked, yet he will not learn righteousness.
In the land of uprightness he will deal wrongfully, and will not see the LORD’s majesty.”
Beloved, the wicked do not have the fear of God in their heart, and therefore will find it difficult to live right. Favour does not change anyone who is determined to be wicked. So, whatever you do for anyone, do it as unto God (Colossians 3:23-25). Only God can reward your goodness. Do not be tired of doing good. If you stop doing good because of people’s bad attitude to you, you will lose the reward of goodness and suffer the same fate with the wicked. Be wise!
What Should We Do With This Message?
1. Do good to everyone not minding who appreciates you or not, for God will reward you.
2. Never stop to do good just because you were hurt previously, rather do it as unto the Lord.
3. Do not pay back evil for evil, rather, keep doing good all the same.
4. Never expect everyone to be nice to you the same way you are to them.
Prayer : Though I’m living in this wicked world; but I’m determined to overcome evil and always live in line with your will LORD, so help me God.
A Word Of Blessing : Today I speak on your life. No one will harm you for your goodness. May the Lord protect you and cause you to never cease to do good, in Jesus’ name, amen.
Reflection : He who expects every beneficiary of his favour to reciprocate, would wait forever.
Quote : “No amount of favour can change the wicked who is determined to progress with wickedness.”
