Verse Of The Day : For both he that santifies and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren. Hebrews 2:11
Thought of The Day : We’re all members of God’s family through Christ’s redemptive work which brings our salvation and sanctification.
LISTEN : We’re a privileged family. It’s a privilege to be a member of God’s family. Through Christ Jesus we’re all members of God’s family, whether male or female, young or old, great or small, rich or poor, Jew or Greek, educated or uneducated, free or captive, etc., Christ is all and in all. The Bible says,
“And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Savages, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.”
My dear, we’re purchased by the precious blood of Jesus Christ and fashioned after Christ’s image as true ambassadors of His kingdom. The Bible declares that, we’re purged from our sins by His death and purified to serve His good purposes on earth. (See Titus 2:14). Christ sanctified us to God. That is, He made us holy unto God. He sets us apart from the corruption of the world. Not only that, but He engrafted us into the divine family and God is not ashamed of us. What a privilege! We’re now members of God’s family through Christ’s redemptive work which brings our salvation and sanctification. The Bible says,
“For both he that santifies and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren.”
Christ Jesus is he that santifies, and we who are cleansed and saved through his death are the ones sanctified. And both Christ our sanctifier and we the sanctified are from one source – God! The Bible says,
“And you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God.”
1 Corinthians 3:23
Beloved, isn’t that wonderful! Because you have God you have everything. You belong to the divine family – God’s own family. Therefore, your life is not at the mercy of anything or anyone. David affirms in the Psalms thus:
“When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.”
You know how it turned out for David! A despised shepherd boy who was abandoned in the bush turned out to be the esteemed and immortalised king of Israel; that Jesus Christ should be called the son of David. Beloved, you’re in God’s family. You’re sanctified to glorify God in your life. Therefore, live in newness of life – be pure, be loving, be peaceable and wait expectantly for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Be wise!
What Should We Do With This Message?
1. Always remember that, we’re all members of God’s family through Christ.
2. Love every member of the family as you would love your own family.
3. Stop division, malice, hate, etc., and begin to act in love.
4. Encourage unity and harmony in the church as a true child of God.
