Verse Of The Day : If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. 1 Corinthians 15:19
Thought of The Day : It is disappointing and miserable to profess Christ, yet, anchor one’s hope only in this fleeting world.
LISTEN: We live in vain when we live outside of God. Life outside God is a mirage and a complete misappropriation of our God-given time in the earth. The Bible says,
“Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.“
Beloved, your life on earth is an opportunity to prepare for eternity with God. Life is short and the world is passing away, hence, to live just for this present life is to be eternally miserable. Those who live their lives without God must expect endless and extreme pain; distress, woe and destruction in eternity. Therefore, we should walk in the fear of God; have respect for human lives and live for eternity. We should not allow the so-called pleasures of this life take the place of God in our hearts. We should not give up on Christ or deny Him in the face of tribulations, persecution or trials. It’s disappointing and miserable to profess love for Christ, yet, anchor your hope only in this world. Beloved, we should not limit our hope to this present world. It’s quite unreasonable to serve God, but put your hope in this world. The Bible says,
“If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable ”
When you live just for what the world can offer you, surely, you’ll be miserable hereafter. Therefore, learn to spend your time, energy, resources, etc., on things that have eternal value. Always hunger for God; for anyone who will wish for a blissful future with God must learn to hunger for righteousness (Matthew 5:6). Remember, if you aren’t living for God, then, your living in vain. Be wise!
What Should We Do With This Message?
1. Never put your hope in this life because the world is not reliable.
2. Learn to spend your time, energy, resources, etc., on things with eternal values.
3. Don’t give up on Christ or deny Him when faced with trials, instead, trust Him more and more.
4. Develop an unquenchable hunger for God and His word.
Prayer : Dear Lord, thank you for loving me. I will love you for the rest of my life, amen.
A Word Of Blessing : Today I speak on your life, may your hope not only rest on things of this life. Receive grace to overcome this wicked world, in Jesus’ name, amen.
