Verse Of The Day : Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. James 5:13
Thought of The Day : Prayer of faith is the antidote for afflictions; the more you pray the more you’re positioned for victory.
LISTEN : Prayer frustrates afflictions and releases divine intervention. However, prayer becomes difficult to do when we lose grip on faith. We are likely to abandon the duty of prayer when troubles put pressures on us. Rather than pray about a problem and seeking godly solutions, people resort to worrying about them, thereby compounding the problems. My dear, because of the prevalence of troubles and problems of life, worry seems to be inevitable and responsible for some health conditions and lack of peace of mind. Regrettably, worry leaves our minds unsettled, and make our body unfit to confront our challenges. What does it mean to worry? It means to think about problems or fears: to feel or show fear or concern because you think that something bad has happened or could happen. Worry reduces the voice of faith and increases the voice of fear. It closes the ears to the voice of God and opens them to the voice of Satan; it blinds the eyes to the promises of God and opens them to the lies of the devil. Therefore, when you are faced with trials, you should rather spend your time in prayer and not waste it on worries. Time spent on prayer is a time well spent; but time spent on worry is a waste of time and energy. My dear, the arrival of problems is not an invitation to worry, panic, depression or fear; but a call to pray and to grow more and more in faith. The Bible says,
“Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation,
through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God.
And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
When trouble comes, it is time to come to God and not time to run away from Him. Your passion for prayer should increase more than the pressure from your troubles. When your hunger for prayer grows, your faith in God in times of troubles will certainly grow. Besides, time of trouble is time for prayer and not time for worries. Our verse of the day says,
“Is any among you afflicted? let him pray.”
So, stop worrying about your problems and begin to pray passionately about it. If only you can pray, God will release intervention for you. Be wise!
