THE GOSPEL OF SALVATION

Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse of The Day : For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. 1 Corinthians 1:21

Thought of The Day : Satan has no reason to fight the gospel of Christ Jesus if the gospel is not a threat to his own kingdom.

LISTEN : The gospel of Christ Jesus is the gospel of salvation. It is the good news that brings life. It looks like an unlikely means of salvation, but God chooses it as the means of our salvation. If humans by their wisdom were to say by what means God would give salvation to mankind, no one would ever imagined that salvation would be through the gospel of Christ Jesus. This is why lots of people see the gospel (good news) of Christ Jesus as foolishness, but Satan sees it as the wisdom of God and therefore will stand to resist it. He (Satan) will fight it through persecution or martyrdom of those who believe in Christ Jesus. Satan has no reason to fight the gospel of Christ Jesus if the gospel is not a threat to his own kingdom. However, no matter how he tries, he cannot stop the gospel because that is God’s means of salvation. He cannot stop the church from preaching the gospel of Christ. The Bible says,

And I say also unto you, That you are Peter,
and upon this rock I will build my church;
and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Matthew 16:18

The truth is, the devil cannot stop what God had already finished before it ever started. The gospel is here with us today because salvation is still available. Just know that the curtain will soon be drawn and it will be too late to accept the LORD Jesus Christ. The Bible says,

“…behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

2 Corinthians 6:2

Beloved, the mystery of the gospel of the kingdom of God is that, even the wisest of people who do not know God, do not know that the foolishness of preaching is God’s means of salvation. Our anchor Bible verse says,

“For after that in the wisdom of God the world by
wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the
foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.”

1 Corinthians 1:21

My dear, the gospel of Christ Jesus is before you today. It is the gospel of eternal life and you can be a beneficiary of this divine privilege by believing in Jesus as your LORD and Saviour, and continue to abide in Him (John 15:4-9). What are you waiting for? Hurry now and make Him Lord of your life today. Be wise!

What Should We Do With This Message?
1. Don’t ignore warnings of the gospel, instead, heed and spread it
2. Embrace the gospel of Christ Jesus and stand in the fear of God.
3. Never resist the gospel of Christ Jesus no matter the circumstance.
4. Determine to be an ambassador of Christ Jesus to the world.

Prayer : Dear LORD, I thank You because the gospel of Christ Jesus brings salvation to humanity. Therefore, I will spread it as long as I live, amen.

A Word of Blessing: It is well with you. May you be passionate about spreading the gospel of Christ Jesus now and forever, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Reflection : Any ‘wisdom’ that makes humanity reject the gospel of Christ Jesus is foolishness personified.

Quote : “God is the all-powerful and all-wise God. Hence, the devil cannot stop what God had already finished before it ever started.”
