Verse Of The Day : For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come. Hebrews 13:14
Thought of The Day : You have no home on earth if you haven’t made provision for a home in heaven.
LISTEN : We don’t have a home in the earth. We’re mere pilgrims here. We live today and are gone tomorrow. No matter our achievements, we are empty without God. Beloved, we should live as strangers in this world. The Bible says,
“Dearly beloved, I plead to you as strangers and pilgrims,
abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul.”
1 Peter 2:11
Let’s not be carried away by pleasures of this life at the expense of our souls. A certain man moved around his compound in company of his friend one cool evening gazing and admiring his edifice. He exclaimed, “This is good! Life ends here.” His friend replied, “Great achievement friend! But our real home is with God, We don’t have a home in the earth.” He asked him, “Why did you say so?” His friend replied, “Because you live as though you would be in this world forever.” My dear, do you know this world is not our home? And that we’re just pilgrims on the earth? This world is not our home. The world is imperfect, fleeting, and vanishing; and certainly we must die out of it. The Bible says,
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”
So, learn to use this world with wisdom. Don’t live as though you have come to stay here forever. Hold the things of this life loosely, and hold firmly onto God. God is the source and real meaning of life. Hence, to live apart from Him is to be empty of purpose. Yes, life has no meaning apart from God. The fear of God is what defines life. Therefore, it’s the height of foolishness to live as though God doesn’t matter to you. He who thinks that God doesn’t matter will himself eventually not matter in eternity. Therefore, always remember that this world is not your home. Our verse of the day says,
“For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.”
Beloved, stop living just for this life and begin to live for God, for our real home is with Him. Be wise!
