RIGHTEOUS LIVING IS NOT A WASTE OF TIME

Verse Of The Day : Righteousness exalts a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. Proverbs 14:34 (UKJV).

Thought of The Day : Honouring God is the pathway to His blessings; but evil opens the door to disasters.

LISTEN : It is not a waste of time to live upright. God is honoured when men live righteously. The power of righteousness is in the fear of God. Righteous living pleases God and attracts Him into our lives. Jesus Christ died that we might live our lives to the glory of God. He wants us to embrace the righteousness of God. What is righteousness? It is the quality or state of being morally correct and justifiable. It means to have a right standing with God. My dear, righteousness is a trigger of God’s blessings. True honour and promotion come from God. God will promote and honour anyone who is determined to stay humble and loyal to Him. God does not honour or promote people out of sentiments, He promotes people on grounds of genuine relationship with Him. Pleasing God is the pathway to His blessings; but evil opens the door to disasters. The truth is, those who make sacrifices to please God will attract His unsolicited favour, honour and promotion like Joseph. Joseph refused to disobey God, instead, he sacrificed his own comfort and freedom when Potiphar’s promiscuous wife forcibly desired to sleep with him. Joseph said,

There is none greater in this house than I;
neither has he kept back any thing from me but you,
because you are his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?

Genesis 39:9

Though his refusal to comply with her evil desire puts him in prison, but God’s grace brought him out and took him to the palace. He was remarkably honoured and promoted by Pharaoh because God elected to honour him. As a result, he was placed above Pharaoh’s princes and senators. The Bible says,

“The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people,
and let him go free. He made him lord of his house,
and ruler of all his substance: To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.”

Psalms 105:22

What an uncommon promotion! Beloved, do you desire to be divinely honoured and promoted? Then, obey and serve God faithfully. The truth is, where obedience and service are genuinely rendered to God, life cannot end in misery. Remember, righteous living is not a waste of time. Be wise!

What Should We Do With This Message?
1. No matter what, do not succumb to the pressure to commit sin against God.
2. Do not be discouraged if you suffer for righteousness sake, rather defend your faith in God.
3. Determine to obey and remain loyal to God in every situation and you will be rewarded.
4. Rejoice when you suffer for righteousness sake because you will be lifted in the end.

Prayer : Heavenly Father, I thank You because You honour obedience. Help me to obey and remain faithful to You, in Jesus’ name, amen.

A Word Of Blessings : Today, I speak on your life. May God bless, honour and promote you as you serve Him, in Jesus’ name, amen.
