Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. Matthew 27:52-53

Thought of The Day : Jesus Christ’s resurrection proofs that, resurrection and immortality of saints is possible.

LISTEN : Jesus Christ died not to save Himself or the angels in heaven, but to save humanity. He was wounded, bruised and chastised for our sins. The Bible says,

But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our
was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Isaiah 53:5

Besides, He resurrected not to bless God, but to give hope and eternal life to those who believe in His name. Isn’t that interesting! Christ is risen because He conquered death, and if we believe in Him we shall eventually conquer death too. My dear, by Christ’s resurrection, He demonstrated His supremacy to everyone and everything. Jesus Christ’s resurrection proofs that, resurrection and immortality of saints is possible. As a matter of fact, resurrection is the proof of the power of Jesus Christ over the power of death and the grave. The Bible says,

O death, where is thy sting? O grave,
where is thy victory?
The sting of death is sin;
and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God,
which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

1 Conrinthians 15:55-57

By His death, He destroyed the power of Satan. The power of God is supreme to the power of the grave. His Spirit quickens dead bones and bodies and bring them back to life. Nothing can ever hold back anyone whom God has set free. Surely, the grave can’t continue to hold back anyone that heaven has pronounced ‘alive.’ Beloved, we are alive with Christ Jesus. When Jesus Christ finally died on the cross, remarkable things happened. The veil of the temple was rent in two from top to bottom; the earth quaked, and the rocks rent. The graves of the saints were opened, and they resurrected after the resurrection of Christ and showed themselves to many in the city of Jerusalem. My dear, Christ is risen and ever alive because nothing is impossible to God. And we have same hope of resurrection if we walk with Him from start to finish. Praise God, Jesus Christ is alive. Be wise!
