Verse Of The Day : If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. 1 Corinthians 15:19

Thought of The Day : It is disappointing and miserable to profess Christ, yet, anchor one’s hope only in this fleeting world.

LISTEN: Life outside God is a mirage and full of emptiness. It is a misappropriation of one’s God-given time and opportunity on the earth. My dear, life is short and the world is passing away, hence, to live just for this present life is to be eternally miserable. Our theme verse says,

“If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable ”

1Cor. 15:19

Those who live their lives without God must expect extreme pain, distress, woe and destruction in eternity. Beloved, are you a believer in Christ Jesus? Do you believe Jesus Christ beyond this present life? Do you believe Him beyond your quest for healing, miracle, job, marriage, childbirth, health, etc.? As believers, we should cease to live ungodly lifestyles, or act wickedly towards others. We should walk in the fear of God, and have respect for human lives. We should not allow the so-called pleasures of this life take the place of God in our hearts. We should not give up on Christ or deny Him in the face of tribulations, persecution or trials. It’s disappointing and miserable to profess love for Christ, yet, anchor one’s hope only in this world. Jesus said,

Labour not for the food which perishes,
but for that food which endures unto everlasting life,
which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him has God the Father sealed.

John 6:27

Beloved, when you live just for what the world can offer you, surely, you’ll be miserable hereafter. Therefore, learn to spend your time, energy, resources, etc., on things that have eternal value. Always hunger for God; for anyone who will wish for a blissful future with God must learn to hunger for righteousness. Jesus said,

Blessed are they which do hunger
and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Matthew 5:6

Remember, if you are not living for God, then, your life is not worth it. So, determine to live for eternity and not just for this life. Be wise!

What Should We Do With This Message?
1. Never put your hope in this life because the world is not reliable.
2. Learn to spend your time, energy, resources, etc., on things with eternal values.
3. Don’t give up on Christ or deny Him when faced with trials, instead, trust Him more and more.
4. Develop an unquenchable hunger for God and His word.

Prayer : Dear Lord, You’re everything for me. Help me to see things from your perspectives, in Jesus ’ name, amen.

A Word Of Blessing : Today, I speak on your life, may your hope not end only in this life. You will not be rendered miserable, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Reflection : Those who live just for what this world can offer them, will be miserable in eternity.

Quote : “Life without God is a mirage and a complete misappropriation of one’s earthly time and opportunity.”
