Verse Of The Day : Let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. 1John 3:18
Thought Of The Day : Words of mouth alone is not enough to authenticate the genuineness of love.
LISTEN : There is no true love without a heartfelt sacrifice. Sacrifice is the power of love. Where you find true love, sacrifice can never be missing. Love is not real where sacrifice is impossible. Love that doesn’t sacrifice is no love. For the beauty of love is in its ability to make sacrifices. The Bible says,
“In this was manifested the love of God toward us,
because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we
might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that
he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”
God demonstrated His love towards us by sacrificing His son Jesus Christ for our sins. What is sacrifice? In this context, sacrifice is to give up something valued for the sake of other considerations. It is to do something that hurts or inconveniences you just to ease the pain of another. Beloved, love is not real unless it is expressed by sacrifice. You can have a lot of love in your heart, that never does anyone any good if you don’t express and act on it. The love of God is known through the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ for our sins. The Bible says,
“But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
This is why the Bible urges us to love others with our hearts. Our verse of the day says,
“Let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.”
Real love doesn’t end in words, rather it grows into action. Words of mouth alone is not enough to authenticate the genuineness of love. My dear, love is not “a thing of the lip”, but “a thing of the heart.” When your mouth says, “I love you”, your heart should be moved to act. When we love just with the mouth we deceive, but when we love from the heart we bless our object of love. Henceforth, make sacrifices for others, because sacrifice is the evidence of true love. Remember, love that doesn’t make sacrifices is not qualified to be called love. Be wise!
What Should We Do With This Message?
1. Never love just in words, rather love others sincerely.
2. Make sacrifices for the well-being of others where necessary.
3. Do what you can to motivate and inspire others to be what they’re created to be.
4. Let the love in your heart produce a tangible evidence of your love for God and humanity.
Prayer : Dear heavenly Father, Your love for me is unquestionable. Therefore, help me to love others just the way You love me, in Jesus’ name, amen.
