Verse Of The Day : The one who associates with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. Proverbs 13:20
Thought of The Day : We become wise or foolish by our own actions.
LISTEN: Life is useless without wisdom. Life without wisdom is like having a well – shaped head, a beautiful body and a nice – looking face without the brain. Of what use is the body without the brain? It is just “a wasted beauty.” In life, wisdom is the principal thing. No matter who you are, until you walk in wisdom you are not safe, and you will surely ruin your life. The Bible says,
“Wisdom is the principal thing;
therefore get wisdom: and with
all your getting get understanding.” (Proverbs 4:7).
This is why we should pursue wisdom with everything within us. True wisdom begins with a relationship with God. When we walk with Him we would learn wisdom, and the wisdom would affect our actions and decisions, including the choice of association. Lots of destinies, businesses, marriages, career, etc., are ruined for lack of wisdom of association. The inability to live wisely makes people to end shamefully. My dear, never be a friend to anyone who avows enmity with God. Be wise by walking with the wise! However, it is pertinent to note that, the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. The Bible says,
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom:
and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. “(Proverbs 9:10).
True wisdom begins with the fear of God. So, choose your associates or friends based on the fear of God. Where God is not honoured friendship shouldn’t be permitted. You can love everyone, but be wise when choosing a friend. Friendship has a way of affecting you positively or negatively. Friendship can make you better or worst depending on the kind of friends you keep. Be careful with your choice of friends. You’re not under any obligation to associate with everyone. Friendship is by choice. Hence, when you make the choice, make it wisely. Limit your friendship to the wise. Our anchor Bible verse says,
“The one who associates with the wise grows wise,
but a companion of fools suffers harm.” Proverbs 13:20
Beloved, do you want to grow wiser? Then, walk with the wise! When you walk with the wise you would secure a blessed future for yourself. But when you walk with fools, trust me, you would surely ruin your life. Remember, if you walk with the wise you will grow wiser. Be wise!
