Verse Of The Day : This is what comforts me in my trouble, for your promise revives me. Psalms 119:50
Thought of The Day : When your heart is broken, God’s word can revive it.
LISTEN : No matter how dead, confused, or shattered your life is, faith in God’s word can revive it. A person of faith can survive anything. Faith comes from God’s word and God’s word produces comfort. It is the antidote for a broken heart and hopelessness, because it produces faith. Beloved, the word of God gives comfort in trouble because, God’s word is a trigger for faith; and faith produces life. The Bible says,
“… The just shall live by faith.” (Habakkuk 2:4 ; Hebrews 10:38).
Couple of months ago, I told a story about a christian widow in her late nineties who was asked how she was able to live that long, even after experiencing a tragedy that took the life of almost all her family members in the past. She replied, “I found comfort in the word of God. His promises revives me. I learned to accept what I can’t fix, by leaving it in the hands of a loving and faithful God. That’s my secret!” Beloved, this is what you should do too. Learn to seek solace in God. The Bible says,
“And David was greatly distressed;
for the people spoke of stoning him, …
but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.” (1 Samuel 30:6).
When David’s heart was broken, and his life threatened, he encouraged himself in the word of God and was revived. In the same way, when we face similar situation or worse, we can still find peace of mind in the word of God. Beloved, life is full of uncertainties and ugly experiences. Therefore, at some point in our lives things must go out of our control. But no matter what, the solution is in the word of God. The comfort and peace you need for your heartbreak is in the word of God. David said,
“This is what comforts me in my trouble,
for your promise revives me.” (Psalms 119:50).
The word of God brings comfort in times of troubles. His word heals all manner of wounds. Surely, he who goes to the word of God in time of trouble will find solace and healing. Henceforth, when your heart is heavy, get deeper into the word and you will find solace in Him. Be wise!
