Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him. Psalms 105:19

Thought of The Day : Trial pushes us to complain and whine about our situations. But faith guides our actions and causes us to yield to God’s will.

LISTEN : Obedience, faith, humility, patience are some of the tests everyone must go through to walk with God and obtain His blessings. Test produces trust and promotion. People trust what they have tested and certified to be good and true. As a matter of fact, what can’t be tested can’t be trusted. Problems of life test our patience and ability to obey and honour God. Patience is the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, problems, suffering without getting anxious or annoyed. Beloved, trial pushes us to complain and whine about our situations. But faith guides our actions and causes us to yield to God’s will always; knowing that, what we suffer often prepares us for what we can enjoy in the future (Revelations 2:7;3:21)). Even Jesus Christ learned obedience from what he suffered and was exalted in the end (Hebrews 5:7-8 ; Philippians 2:6-8). God will not permit you to go through trials and afflictions if His intention is not to refine and promote you (Deuteronomy 8:2-16). Yes, pain precedes gain. The bigger your destiny the bigger the trials; and the bigger the trials the bigger the blessings. My dear, what you carry determines what follows you. Great destinies attract great oppositions. But the good news is, God will preserve you in moments of trials if you hide yourself in Him in obedience and faith (Isaiah 43:2). God some time allows us to go through trials and tribulations to shape our characters and prepare us for our destiny. We grow in patience, understanding and ability when we surrender and pursue the will of God in times of troubles and challenges. That was what Joseph did. He was faithful and obedient to God irrespective of betrayal from his brothers and false accusation from Potiphar’s promiscuous wife. God allowed him go through such horrible experiences to prove his heart. The truth is, you can’t be approved until you are proved. So, be determined to pass the test and you’ll wear the crown. Be wise!

What Should You Do With This Message?

2. Determine to overcome trials and temptations by fixing your eyes on the crown of victory.
3. Determine to grow in patience, understanding and skill after every test or trial.
