Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : When they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were gathered together. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness. Acts 4:31 (UKJV)

Thought of The Day : When prayer quakes our hearts for God, God quakes the earth for our sake.

LISTEN : The altar of prayer is the altar of power. When men pray indeed heaven responds to requests. Ernest prayer is key to a guaranteed answer to prayer. Yes, God can’t ignore fervent prayers, because no one engages in fervent (hot, passionate, burning) prayer without a move of faith. My dear, God is prepared to answer our prayers. However, for the earth to experience the quaking power of God, men must expend themselves in the altar of prayer. The Spirit of God comes with power when the heart is wet with prayer. The disciples of Christ gathered to pray, and when they have prayed, heaven responded by release of power (the Holy Spirit) to them. Beloved, sincere prayer to God generates unhindered power to man. A church member asked his pastor. “Sir, does prayer work?” “How powerful is prayer?” “Prayer is as powerful as your faith in God.” Replied his pastor. Beloved, that is true for everyone of us. Faith gives strength and answer to your prayers. You can’t experience the power of prayer until you enjoy to pray in faith. Prayer is powerful. It prepares the heart to encounter God. Prayer opens the window of heaven to those who invest in it (prayer). It gives answers to questions of life. When men pray God answers. When men pray fervently demonic foundations are shaken and removed. (Acts 12:5-7). Prayer gives confidence and courage to a troubled heart. My dear, comfort is not far from anyone who delights to pray. Because of the potency of prayer Jesus said, “… men ought always to pray, and not to faint” (Luke 18:1). This means that, he who prays in spite of discouragement and delays will unfailingly receive divine intervention. Amazingly, the full power of prayer is released when prayer is combined with praise. A heartfelt prayer and praise God can’t resist. Beloved, how much do you love to pray and praise God? When you pray, certainly you’ll receive power from heaven. However, to fully enjoy what God provides at the altar of prayer, we must be watchful. Without watchfulness you can hardly recognize wonderful opportunities for success, escape or overcome temptations. Jesus said, “Watch and pray that you enter not into temptation…” (Matthew 26:41). So, be wise!

What Should We Do With This Message?
1. Pray to God always and you’ll discover His power.
2. No matter what, don’t give up on prayer, instead pray without ceasing.
3. When you pray to God, praise Him too, to unlock the door of His blessings.
4. Make prayer your delight and you’ll discover how good God is.

Faith Confession : In Jesus’ name! I confess that God hears prayers that are done in faith. Therefore, I would pray in faith henceforth, amen!

Reflection : For the earth to experience the quaking power of God, men must expend themselves in the altar of prayer.
