Verse Of The Day : Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love its use will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21

Thought of The Day : Our words trigger death or life; but wisdom directs our words toward the path of life.

LISTEN : “Speak life not death; faith not fear.” Says a mother to her thirty year old daughter who is in the habit of spreading bad news on daily basis. Friend, words are powerful. Our word can trigger fear and give hope (1 Thessalonians 4:18). Be careful with your words or who you listen to. Bad words inject fear into the heart that is empty of faith. Satan controls people’s hearts through fear, we should rather work with God who controls people’s hearts through faith (2 Timothy 1:7). We can achieve this by giving hope to the hopeless. The truth is, when the future becomes very uncertain, fear grips the heart of people. Hope disappears when the heart is overwhelmed by negative and fear-inducing thoughts and words. Today, fear, hardship and heartache are currently ravaging the world due to the pandemic. To many, this seems like endless miseries. No doubt, the world’s economy is in a grim situation, but not hopeless. Therefore, to overcome this hard times, you must be positive and full of faith and spread the message of faith and hope to others and not message of fear. My dear, there is power in words! Death and life are planted in the spirit of man by words. When you speak words of hope in what seems like a hopeless situation, you give people reason to live again. But when you speak words that put fear in them, you just sponsored them to give up on life. So, learn to speak words of life and hope. Jesus said, “…The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life. (John 6:63). Beloved, stop feeding on bad news and begins to feed on God’s word. God’s word produces faith, but bad news produces anxiety and fear. The truth is, we live by faith and die by fear. When your heart is full of faith in trying times, you do not panic like others who do not have faith, because you know that, faith does not deny fact, but changes facts. The fact is that, there is trouble in the world as a result of the pandemic. But faith changes the equation, knowing that God is in control. My dear, do not be afraid no matter what, for God will both protect and provide for you beyond your widest imagination. Henceforth, speak life not death, faith and not fear! Be wise!

What Should We Do With This Message?
1. In times of trouble and uncertainty, speak words of hope and comfort to others.
2. No matter the circumstance, never spread message of fear but of hope.
3. To overcome the power of fear, do not give your ears to negative words and your heart to evil imaginations.
4. Always remain positive and hopeful, knowing that it won’t get worse but gets better.
