Verse Of The Day : The one who has an ear had better hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who conquers will in no way be harmed by the second death. Revelations 2:11
Thought of The Day : The voice of God is the voice of instruction, and the voice of instruction is the voice of life.
LISTEN : A woman asked her stubborn son, “Son, have you lost your hearing ability? You have refused to heed my instructions. It’s obvious that, your ears are for fancy.” This is how lots of people respond to God. They pay deaf ears to the word of God. My dear, when God speaks, men should listen. Not to listen to God is to call for His wrath. God deserves our attention and obedience. It is His pleasure to receive our total loyalty and commitment. God will not watch us get destroyed without making efforts to correct and save us through discipline. Like our earthly parents, our loving Father in heaven disciplines us to make us better and not bitter (Hebrews 12:6). He commends, corrects and cautions His people where necessary. Jesus Christ concluded His messages (revelations) to John the Apostle for the seven churches of Asia minor, and by extension to churches of all ages, with this statement, “He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the churches.” (see Revelations 2:7,11,17,29; 3:6,13,22). He commended, corrected and cautioned the churches to heed God’s word and live right no matter what. When we obey God He would save us from eternal death. My dear, God created the ears for hearing. And what the ear hears should lead to actions that should glorify God. Beloved, our ears should hear the voice of God, and the voice of God is the voice of correction, encouragement, warning, love, rebuke, direction and the like. But when we disobey Him, we have lost our real sense of hearing. Friend, what have you done with the words of God you have been hearing? Has it transformed you? Remember, if you close your ears to the instructions of God, He will close His ears to your cry when disaster comes. Beloved, the voice of God is the voice of instruction, and the voice of instruction is the voice of life. Henceforth, let the fear of God put caution in your actions and you will not regret in the long run. Be wise!
What Should We Do With This Message?
1. Always heed God’s warning and save yourself from disasters.
2. Don’t close your ears to the instructions of God and He will not shut His ears to your cry.
3. Don’t resent or despise the chastisement of God, rather humbly submit to Him.
4. Study the Scriptures daily and exercise yourself in godliness.
Faith Confession : In Jesus’ name. I confess that God warns anyone He wants to save. Therefore, I will heed His warning as long as I live, amen.
Prayer : Heavenly Father! You are my God. Help me to heed your warnings and turn away from evil, in Jesus’ name, amen!
A Word Of Blessing : It is well with you. May the Lord enable you to heed His warnings and respond accordingly, in Jesus’ name, amen!
Reflection : He who closes his ears to the instructions of God, would have God close His ears to his cry when disaster comes.
