Verse Of The Day : Blessed is the man who endures temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which he promised to those who love Him. James 1:12

Thought of The Day : Temptation is meant to be overcome and not to be overcome by it.

LISTEN : One Sunday morning, a woman cried to the office of her pastor and asked the pastor, “Daddy, can I possibly overcome temptation? Would I ever overcome it?” The Pastor smiled and said, “My daughter, you can, if you walk by faith and pray sincerely to God! Temptations will always come, and you must be prepared to overcome it for it is surmountable.” What is temptation? In the Bible, the word temptation primarily denotes a trial in which man has a free choice of being faithful or unfaithful to God; only secondarily does it signify enticement or seduction to sin. As believers, it is good for us to be tried, because trial brings blessings. My dear, do not resent temptation. It is important that you are tempted because, temptation gives you the opportunity to grow. Besides, when you overcome temptation you attract the crown of life on your head. That is, God will bless you when you endure and overcome temptations. Not only will you be blessed in this life, but also in eternity. Our Bible verse says, “Blessed is the man who endures temptation, for …he will receive the crown of life…” (James 1:12). My dear, temptation is an opportunity for you to be divinely promoted; but it all depends on what you do when you are tempted. Never fall to the tricks of Satan when you face temptation; rather, determine to resist him and stay committed to God. When temptation comes, it leaves you with two options: to be faithful to God, or be unfaithful to Him. With the pressure, suffering and pains that come with temptation, it is easier to fall than to stand; and easier to disobey God than to obey Him. Beloved, when you are tempted, it is not a time to quit your faith in Christ Jesus, but a time to demonstrate your unalloyed loyalty to God. So, determine to overcome temptation. Be wise!
