BE WISE : SATAN DECEIVES AND DESTROYS

MORNING

Thursday October 15, 2020

Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : Be sober and alert. Your enemy the devil, like a roaring lion, is on the prowl looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8

Thought of The Day : Satan never announces himself as a deceiver, rather, he poses as good, just to lure his victims into his net.

LISTEN : Satan is an all time deceiver. He ‘massacres’ destinies of those who choose to be unwise and unguarded. Satan never announces himself as a deceiver, rather, he poses as good just to lure his victims into his net. However, his victims are those who refuse to obey God. My dear, the devil have not ceased to deceive and destroy people. Who he was in Eden, is who he is today. (Genesis 3). So, be wary of his tricks (wary – to feel or show caution about possible dangers or problems). The devil is out to deceive. Couple of months ago, I told a story about a man who gathered his children on his dying bed and said, “My children, don’t forget that life is a running battle, and that your victory to an extent is determined by your actions. Therefore, be serious-minded, careful and watchful; for you could be attacked by your enemies when you least expected it. But when you’re prepared and well equipped, you cannot be defeated.” My dear, this counsel applies to everyone of us. The devil is out to deceive and destroy the careless and unprotected. The careless and unprotected are those who have no relationship with God. Without a relationship with God, you cannot secure His protection for your life. And if God cannot protect you, you are a prey to the devil, ‘the roaring lion.’ But the lion cannot devour a prey that is protected. In the same way, the devil cannot defeat or destroy anyone whose source of strength is of God. With God, you can conquer the devil. When you adhere strictly to the words of God, the devil cannot make you a pushover. Therefore, to overcome in the battles of life, you should realize that, vigilance is required in spiritual warfare. You must not forget that you have an unrelenting enemy, the devil; and that, you cannot overcome him if you are empty of faith (Ephesians 6:16; Hebrews 11:33). Therefore, walk in faith, rely on the grace of God; submit to God and resist the devil and he will flee. Be wise!

What Should We Do With This Message?
1. Constantly resist the devil and he will flee from you.
2. Walk with God and rely on His grace and not on your strength.
3. Don’t be careless with your life, rather, be vigilant and prayerful.
4. Don’t relent on your fight of faith, rather, fight until you see the crown of life on your head.

Faith Confession : In Jesus’ name, I declare that I believe in God. Therefore, the devil cannot make me a pushover, amen!

Prayer : Dear Lord, you are the reason for my victory. Therefore, help me to serve and worship you for the rest of my life, amen.

A Word Of Blessing : Today, I speak on your life. May God grant you victory in every battle. May you not be put to shame, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Reflection : Watch before you leap! Carelessness exposes you to danger and leaves you unprotected.

Quote : “Satan can never be a friend! He who dines with him has thrown caution to the wind and must expect an ambush.”
