Verse Of The Day: My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding. Psalms 49:3

Thought Of The Day : You will lose or win by the quality of your mind.

LISTEN: Use your mouth and heart wisely. Your mouth speaks the desires of your heart. It is the thought of your heart that your mouth speaks. Therefore, you must realize that, your heart is precious. It’s the centre of life. You lose or win by the quality of your heart /mind. My dear, watch your thoughts lest you falter. Don’t make room for senseless thoughts in your heart, for what your heart harbours will soon become a word from your mouth, or your action. (Matthew 12:34). Beloved, guard your thoughts, because, unguarded thoughts will produce reckless words and actions. Guard your words because you can be healed or harmed by it. Besides, you can heal and harm others with your words. God wants our mouths to speak wisdom and our hearts to reflect understanding. The absence of wisdom and understanding in our hearts is a demonstration of the absence of God’s Spirit in our lives. God’s Spirit is expressed by wisdom and understanding. Therefore, we should go to God to seek wisdom. The Bible says, “But if anyone is deficient in wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without reprimand, and it will be given to him.” (James 1:5). Truly, God is the source of true wisdom. Hence, when we exhibit wisdom we exhibit the gift of God. In our verse of the day, the Psalmist made a votive statement and said, “My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.” (Psalms 49:3). He vowed to order his life in line with the will of God. Here, he speaks of his ‘mouth and heart.’ He acknowledged his heart as the center of thoughts, and his mouth as the channel through which his thoughts could be expressed. My dear, determine to use your mouth and heart wisely and you will not regret your life. Remember, you’ll lose or win by the quality of your mind. Be wise!
