Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : You shall not follow a crowd to do evil; neither shall you testify in court to side with a multitude to pervert justice. Exodus 23:2 NHEB

THOUGHT OF THE DAY : If we are keen to do the will of God, we will not be scare or ashamed of being a lone voice for Christ.

LISTEN : We will be lost in the crowd (the wicked world) when our eyes are off God. There is power with the crowd, no doubt. This is the reason why people tend to move towards the crowd. No one wants to be a lone voice. Everyone wants to be part of a crowd. Unfortunately, the crowd is not always right. Being in majority is not a mark of divine approval as some believe. Surely, God does work with minority too (2 Chronicles 14:11 ; Psalms 33:16). If we are keen to do the will of God, we will not be scare or ashamed of being a lone voice for Christ. Many people out of fear, compromise, hardship, poverty, relationship, business or financial favour, etc., become part of a wrong crowd; not realising that following a wrong crowd will lead them to a regrettable end. Beloved, the crowd can be wrong sometimes. Truly, it is good to be with the crowd, but for a good cause. We should be part of a crowd if the crowd stands for justice, equity, goodness, peace, godliness and the fear of God. Never follow a crowd that is out to deceive, mislead, destroy or deny people the opportunity to do the will of God. Avoid trends and fads which tends to lead people astray. Watch the crowd you follow and measure their actions by the word of God; if what they do, do not agree with God’s word, leave the crowd and stand alone for God. Do not forget that if you sin with the crowd, you will be judged with the crowd. If you join a crowd to do evil, you will surely suffer with the crowd. Beloved, never be afraid to stand up for Jesus Christ and His kingdom. Remember, the crowd is not always right and being a lone voice for God is not an abomination. Be wise!

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO NOW?
1. Do not surrender to pressure from the world, rather, surrender to the voice of God.
2. Never partner with a crowd to do evil, instead, stand up for God.
3. Do not hesitate to leave a crowd when you discover their purposes oppose to God’s.
4. Do not follow a crowd to do evil or aid perversion of justice.

Prayer : Heavenly Father, You are my God. Help me to not follow a crowd to do evil, but rather follow your will always, amen.

Reflection : Be wary of trends and fads which tends to lead people astray. Watch the crowd and measure it by the word of God; and never hesitate to leave a crowd that does not stand for God.

Quote : “Avoid association with a wrong crowd; because following a wrong crowd will lead to a regrettable end.”

Faith Confession : Today, I acknowledged that crowd is not always right. It can be wrong sometimes. Therefore, I will follow the word of God instead, amen.

Biblical Fact : Did you know Matthias is chosen to replace Judas Iscariot as one of the twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ? (Acts 1:23-26).

Today In History : July 7, 1943 Adolf Hitler makes the V-2 missile program a top priority in armament planning.

Stunning Fact : Did you know the night vision of tigers is 6 times better than humans?

A Word Of Blessing : It is well with you. Today I speak on your life. May God guide you to make the right decisions. May you not follow a crowd to do evil. In Jesus’ name, amen.

EVENING

TOPIC : ARE YOU WORRIED?

Tuesday, July 7, 2020

Bible Verse : Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

LISTEN: There is no point to be worried when you can have faith and overcome your troubles. Worry is a war you declared against yourself. But faith subdues the power of worry, so have faith. Beloved, are you worried? Is your heart troubled because of what you are going through? Relax! A person of faith never stops believing what God has promised. So, cast all your worries on God, because he cares for you. Yes he does! Never be distracted by circumstances, instead, have faith in God. (Jer 32 : 17, 27). My dear, whatever your situation, learn to put your trust in God. Even when you cannot trace Him, yet He is trustworthy. If He says, cast your burdens on him, He meant to take it from you. So, do it today. Be wise!

Prayer : Heavenly Father, I thank you because you care about me. I will trust in You as long as I live, amen.
