Author : Bishop Julius Okarike
Verse Of The Day : For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us. Romans 8:18
THOUGHT OF THE DAY : To enjoy future glory, you must endure present shame; and to enjoy eternal gain, you must endure earthly pain.
LISTEN : A woman in labour screams for hours in pain but the baby was not forthcoming. As she screams and pushes over and over again she became weak and said, “I am tired, I cannot push anymore.” The attendant midwife tapped her on the shoulder with a smile and said, “Woman, be patient, for success is closer.” As she was yet speaking, the baby forced her way through the mother’s womb and the midwife screamed, “Praise God! Your baby is here, woman.” Immediately, the woman was revived and glorified God. Similarly, our earthly struggle is temporary, but our eternal glory is endless. God has prepared a better life for those who suffer for the sake of Jesus Christ and the kingdom of God. That life is in the paradise of God. A place of complete happiness and free from all regrets and woes. A place meant to end all heartbreak and sorrow forever. The Bible says, “God will wipe away from them every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. The first things have passed away.” (Revelations 21:4). What a wonderful promise! There will be no more tears or weeping. No more mourning for losses, tragedies and heartbreak, because all sorrow will be gone, as God will introduce a perfect life, and ending all miseries and pain. Therefore, let us not consider our momentary troubles and sufferings, for they will soon be over. Instead, let us hang on and the crown of glory will be ours. Remember, to enjoy future glory you must endure present shame; and to enjoy eternal gain you must endure earthly pain. Be wise!

TOPIC: EAT GOD’S WORD TO GROW
Bible Verse : As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that you may grow thereby: 1 Peter 2:2
LISTEN : We are what we eat. We can live or die by what we eat. We eat food not just to satisfy our hunger, but to be strong, grow healthy and stay alive. Growth and life generally cannot be sustained without food. In the same way, our spiritual life cannot be sustained without spiritual food (the word of God). To grow spiritually we should thirst after God. When we hunger and thirst after God and His righteousness, nothing will satisfy our hungry soul but God. Only His words can truly satisfy our spiritual needs. Beloved, your hunger for God begins when you realise your emptiness without Him, and the need to desire His words. (John 15:5). We are to hunger for God’s word the way we hunger for physical food. God’s word is key to spiritual growth and maturity. Sincerely, we cannot attain God’s expectations if we do not desire His words. Our Bible verse says, ” As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that you may grow thereby:” (1 Peter 2:2). Beloved, to be spiritually strong and matured, you must desire God’s word the same way a baby would desire his or her mother’s breast milk. So, embrace, study and meditate on God’s word to grow in line with His will. Remember, you are what you eat. Be wise!
Prayer : Dear LORD, I thank You because Your word brings spiritual growth. I will feed on Your word daily, amen!
