Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. Philippians 4:4

THOUGHT OF THE DAY : Joy never ceases to overflow in a heart where the eyes are on God.

LISTEN : Happiness will vanish when the reason and object of happiness is destroyed. Life often turns to a shadow when our source of joy is taken away. This is because, our faith is not in God but in our possessions. And when possession is gone we are gone too. Beloved, we should live differently. Couple of months ago, I told a story about a christian woman who lost her four children in rapid succession to a strange disease and was approached by a friend of the family, who, after reflecting on the weight of the tragedy on her, asked, “Friend, would you ever be happy again?” The woman replied, “I have every reason to be happy, because the death of my children is not the death of my God. I will always be happy because my God lives.” And because of her faith in God, God blessed her with other children. My dear, sometimes we experience similar things, but fail to exercise faith in God. In times of troubles many do choose depression over happiness. They do not see any reason to be happy again. Beloved, that should not be the case. Do not allow depression to dictate the direction of your life or consume your destiny. Learn to have faith in God and be happy all the time. Faith in God will fill your heart with joy even in time of trouble, and God will release the Spirit of joy, even the Holy Spirit into your heart. When you have faith in God, pain, disappointment, heartbreak, hardship, sorrow, tribulations, crisis, rejection, persecution, etc. cannot drown your joy (Habakkuk 3:17,18). Friend, your joy cannot cease if you continuously fix your eyes on God. As much as your eyes are on God, your heart can still find solace in Him. Henceforth, when sorrow strives to take the place of joy in your heart, resist it. Learn to rest in the power of God and never allow sorrow to ruin your life. No matter the circumstance always remember that, the joy of the Lord is your strength. So, be wise!

Bible Verse : Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against you shall fall for your sake. Isaiah 54:15

LISTEN : Do not be afraid, for God will take care of our enemies if we live in obedience to Him; for he who rises against the LORD’S anointed rises against God himself. God promises to deliver us from evil when we eschew evil and put our trust in Him. God never promise what He cannot give. One of His rewards for those who love Him is protection. He protects those who love and obey Him. He promises to defeat those who are against us if we obey His words (Exodus 23:22). God’s power is supreme. Therefore, no matter what or who is against us, God is there to defend us. My dear, when you put your faith in God your enemies would submit to you because God will be your defense. No matter the forces that are against you, if the living God is on your side, they will be defeated for your sake. The Bible says, “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31). Friend, if you follow and serve God faithfully He will not allow you to play into the hands of your enemies. He will keep you because He promises to keep those who love and fear Him. When we obey God and put our trust in Him, He will fight our battles and make us more than conquerors. Henceforth, do not be bothered about who is against you, rather be bothered about your relationship with God. If you are in good terms with God, no power can snatch you out of His hands. Be wise

Prayer : Dear Lord, I thank you for protecting me and disappointing my enemies. Amen!
