Verse Of The Day : The one who has an ear had better hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who conquers will in no way be harmed by the second death. Revelations 2:11

THOUGHT OF THE DAY : The voice of God is the voice of instruction, and the voice of instruction is the voice of life.

LISTEN : God deserves our attention and obedience. It is His pleasure to receive our total loyalty and commitment. God will not watch us get destroyed without making efforts to correct and save us through discipline. When I was a child, my mother would pull my ears when I disobeyed her instructions with this remark, “Your ears are meant for hearing”. And each time she does that, the pain of such chastisement keeps me from going back to my mistakes. She does that because she loves me. And that is what our loving Father in heaven does to us (Hebrews 12:6). He commends, corrects and cautions His people where necessary. Jesus Christ concluded His messages (revelations) to John the Apostle for the seven churches of Asia minor, and by extension to churches of all ages, with this statement, “He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the churches.” (see Revelations 2:7,11,17,29; 3:6,13,22). He commended, corrected and cautioned the churches to heed God’s word and live right no matter what. When we obey God He would save us from eternal death. My dear, God created the ears for hearing. And what the ear hears should lead to actions that should glorify God. Beloved, our ears should hear the voice of God, and the voice of God is the voice of correction, encouragement, warning, love, rebuke, direction and the like. But when we disobey Him, we have lost our real sense of hearing. Friend, what have you done with the words of God you have been hearing? Has it transformed you? Remember, if you close your ears to the instructions of God, He will close His ears to your cry when disaster comes. Beloved, the voice of God is the voice of instruction, and the voice of instruction is the voice of life. Be wise!

Bible Verse : The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. Psalms 51:17

LISTEN : Do you know you can give an irresistible sacrifice to God. I am sure you are wondering how, right? My dear, God does not eat the blood of bulls or other animals. He does not eat your food. The sacrifice He wants is your heart. He demands a certain level of sacrifice from you. The sacrifice you can make to God is to turn from evil ways and embrace righteousness. When a sinner cries to God in sincere repentance and turns away from his evil ways, God will cease to hold his sin against him. My dear, when you are broken in spirit and sincerely feels or shows remorse for your sin, God will forgive you. That is the sacrifice that God cannot resist or despise. Our Bible verse says, “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.” (Psalms 51:17). My dear, do you have a good relationship with God? Do you feel disturbed in your conscience and realised that you have sinned against Him? Repent and confess your sin to Him today and He will forgive you. Be wise!

Prayer : Dear LORD, I thank you for your words today. I repent of my sin. Therefore, forgive and restore my fellowship with you, in Jesus’ name, amen.
