Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : Now when Job’s three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place; Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite: for they had made an appointment together to come to mourn with him and to comfort him. Job 2:11

THOUGHT OF THE DAY : Because no one is immune to bad things, it is the height of foolishness to rejoice when someone else is facing bad times.

LISTEN : No one is immune to bad things. Bad things happen to both the righteous and the wicked, but God takes care of the righteous. He makes a way of escape for them in trouble. No matter how great the trouble, the power of God is greater than all troubles put together. Bad things could frustrate or destroy the wicked, but becomes the ladder with which the righteous climbs to victory. God is always with the righteous even in trouble. The Bible says, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you: when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon you. For I am the LORD your God…” (Isaiah 43:2-3). My dear, have faith in God no matter the storm! The storm would be arrested when God storms into your life. So, when pressure builds up in your life, build up your faith more and more in God. When you are in trouble, and everyone believes that you are suffering for your evil deeds, be silent and let God answer them. For you will compound your pain when you listen to everything. In our verse of the day, Job’s three friends heard of his sudden and devastating tragedies and decided to visit and console him. They sat down with him on the ground for seven days and seven nights and none of them could utter a word because of the gravity of Job’s grief (Job 2:13). Sadly, when they started talking, he was accused of being responsible for his predicaments. This broke the heart of Job. Yet, he put his faith in God (Job 13:15). Beloved, no matter the accusation leveled against you never give up. Just remember that, those who falsely accused or mocked you for your misfortune today may end up tomorrow being the accused or the mocked, for no one is immune to bad things. Be wise!

Bible Verse : When I am afraid, I will trust in you. Psalms 56:3

LISTEN : Faith kills fear. When your faith grows victory grows. My dear, you will not cease to be afraid of circumstances of life until you are ready to put your faith in God. Faith in God is the antidote to fear. In the midst of situations that threatens your peace and joy, and possibly your life, faith in God can keep you courageous, strong and hopeful. My dear, you cannot end your fears until you are prepared to grow your faith. Fear will end when faith grows. Faith alone has the power to kill your fears. George Muller, a Christian Evangelist said, “The beginning of anxiety is the end of faith, and the beginning of true faith is the end of anxiety”. Beloved, are you afraid? Have you ceased to trust in God? Has fear eaten deep into your heart? Wake up! Do not be a slave to fear when you can gain your freedom through faith. So, increase your faith by the word of God and remember that, faith in God is the cure for fear. Be wise!

Prayer : Everlasting Father, I thank you for your word today. Help me to fight my fears with faith in you, amen.
