Verse Of The Day: So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Psalms 90:12

THOUGHT OF THE DAY : To be bankrupt of wisdom is to be bankrupt of purpose.

LISTEN: You gain wisdom when you gain God. When the word of God becomes your passion and standard in life, wisdom becomes your expression. God’s word is a channel of wisdom. His word affects our mind and transforms our lives. True wisdom comes from God. True wisdom is to think the way God thinks. The word of God is the bank of wisdom. Wisdom in biblical sense is the “ability to judge correctly and follow the best course of action, based on knowledge and understanding. God’s word opens our eyes to the source of true wisdom by showing us His ways. Beloved, following the ways of wisdom causes us to be in harmony with God. Until we appreciate God’s word we cannot understand His ways or follow His will. Therefore, to understand the ways of God we must allow His word to dwell richly in our hearts. (Colossians 3:16). Until the word of God fills our hearts, it cannot affect our lives. Beloved, God’s word in our hearts will produce right actions and judgement. True wisdom is important because it will instill in us the fear of God. (Psalms 111:10; Pro. 15:33). God’s word teaches wisdom that enables us to live honestly and wisely in a corrupt system and society. Those who are poor in the word of God are poor in wisdom; that is, there is no true wisdom which is not a result of obedience to God’s words. My dear, God’s word gives insight and understanding. When we have God’s word in our hearts, it will enable us to teach, build and encourage one another to please God. However, where God’s word is undermined, people will grow in sin and ungodliness. Beloved, no real wisdom comes outside the word of God. God’s word is the best instructional book we can ever have in the world. When we embrace the word of God wisdom will come naturally. Therefore, let us embrace God’s word and gain a heart of wisdom. Be wise!

Bible Verse : And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. Job 28:28

LISTEN : Beloved, do you fear God? God is above all and should be honoured and revered above all else. He loves us and wants us to love Him in return; and there is no better way to appreciate Him than to fear, obey, worship and honour Him. The wise fears God, but not so with the foolish and ungodly. The fear of God is fast disappearing from the hearts of men today. Beloved, where is the fear of God in your heart? If God is your creator, where is His honour? God’s problem with the Israelites was their lack of fear and honour for Him. They were ready to fear men, than fear God. Beloved, do you know that human wisdom is measured by the fear of God? (Job 29:29 ; Pro 9:10). Anyone who lacks the fear of God is empty of real life. My dear, always examine yourself and strive to have the fear of God in your heart. How much fear and love do you have for God? Are you putting His interest above yours? Or yours above His? Joseph was a slave boy in Potiphar’s house in Egypt, yet, he demonstrated the fear of God when his master’s wife asked to sleep with him. He clearly refused and said, “…how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” (Gen 39:9). Beloved, determine to honour and fear God always. Be wise!

Prayer : Dear LORD, help me to have your fear always with me, amen.
