Verse Of The Day For we would not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some of those who recommend themselves. But when they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are without understanding. 2 Corinthians 10:12

THOUGHT OF THE DAY : Comparison breeds unhealthy competition; but cooperation makes us accomplish more.

LISTEN : There is no competition in destiny. So, be yourself! Comparing yourself to others is a dangerous thing to do. One sure way to discourage yourself and get trapped by the sin of envy is when you keep comparing yourself to others. You cannot indulge in the comparison game and expects to be happy. God has a specific plan for everyone, and that includes you. And you will not accomplish that plan by competing with others. My dear, there is no competition in destiny. You are not in competition with anyone. Therefore, be yourself and follow God’s plan for your life. Learn to cooperate with others and stop competing with them. Do not feel bad about the blessings of others, rather, be happy for them. Count your blessings and not the blessings of someone else. Give your life completely to God and never give Satan any opportunity to creep into your life and discourage you from following God’s plan for your life. My dear, fix your eyes on God and keep your mind in peace by focusing on the Lord. It is wrong to compare yourself to others. Why? Because, comparing yourself to others will take your focus off of Jesus Christ. He who is bothered or envious of the success of others, will soon lose focus of Jesus Christ. (John 21:21-22). You should not compare yourself to others. You are unique. Therefore, stop being envious of others. Rather, believe that God will reward your diligent hard work. Besides, comparing yourself to others and wanting what they have will make you miss what God has for you. My dear, do not forget that we all are called differently and designed to serve different purposes in the plan of God. Therefore, if you want what is not meant for you, you will end up suffering what you are not meant to suffer, and you will miss what God has for you (1 Samuel 8:20). My dear, stop comparing yourself to others because it will make you uncomfortable. Yes, you can never be comfortable with someone you perceived as a threat to you. Comparing yourself to others will make you to see others as a threat. Beloved, instead of competing with others, try to cooperate with them and you will achieve more. Be wise!

Bible Verse : Whoso keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps his soul from troubles. Proverbs 21:23

LISTEN: Watch what you say, lest what you say becomes your doom. My dear, if you follow God’s word you cannot fall prey to the devil. Watch your tongue and you would save your life; let it loose and you would lose your life. My dear, watch your tongue before it puts you in trouble. Your tongue can protect or destroy you: it can cause death and also produce life. God designed our tongue to be a life-giving organ, and not a life-destroying instrument. Therefore, until you guard your tongue and put it to a wise use you will expose yourself to danger and disaster. Friend, be wise! Know when to talk and when to be silent. Know what to talk and what not to talk. Besides, learn to live by self-control, and not by your impulses. Do not be controlled by your feelings but by proven principles from the word of God. Say the right thing, and right things will happen to you. (Mathew 12:37). Avoid careless talks, because it will result in a careless end. Keep your tongue from evil and you will live; open it wide in talking evil and you will endanger your life. Our verse of the day says, “Whoso keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps his soul from troubles.” (Proverbs 21:23). Beloved, it pays to bridle one’s tongue. Sadly, too many people talk carelessly to their own destruction. They say things they cannot defend ; things that are too high for them. They do not know when to talk and when to keep mute. My dear, be in control of your tongue. For if you cannot manage your words you cannot manage your life. Keep your mouth and you will live; let it loose and you will be doomed (Proverbs 18:21). Be wise!

Prayer : Blessed Father, I thank you for your love to me. Help me to guard my tongue and save my life, in Jesus’ name, amen.
