Verse Of The Day : Open my eyes so I can truly see the marvelous things in your law! Psalms 119:18

LISTEN : God’s word opens our eyes to His will. Yes! We can’t see clearly until we see through the eyes of God. As humans, we see in part, but God sees everything and wants to show us things that our eyes couldn’t see. But until we lean on Him, like the blind would lean on his or her guardian we can’t make our life’s journey in peace. Imagine been blindfolded and led away by unknown persons, would it be possible for you to identify where you are? Will you see things clearly? And if you’re abandoned in an unknown place, would it be easy for you to find your way back home without help? Of course not! In the same way, you can’t discover mysteries from the word of God unless your eyes are opened. However, for your eyes to be opened, you must desire it. David prayed, “Open my eyes so I can truly see the marvelous things in your law!” (Psalms 119:18). It means that, we all need divine help to see things from God’s perspectives. Beloved, without divine help you can’t understand the language of God. You can’t understand the word of God unless your eyes are opened spiritually. Yes, spiritual blindness is responsible for rejecting the words of God. (Acts 26:18). Truly, if you’re blind, it will be difficult to know the right way to go. My dear, there are beautiful things for you in the word of God; but until your eyes are opened you can’t discover them. (Ephesians 1:17-18). When your eyes are opened, the coverings of ignorance will disappear. Friend, you can’t grope to find your way when you walk in the light of God. Like the joy of a blind person who suddenly regains his sight, you’ll experience unspeakable joy when your eyes are opened to hidden truths and blessings in the word of God. Beloved, ask God to open your eyes today, and you’ll discover hidden truths in His word. Remember, God’s word opens our eyes to His will. Be wise!

TOPIC : REMEMBER THE POOR AND NEEDY

Wednesday, April 29, 2020

Bible Verse : The one who is gracious to the poor lends to the LORD, and the LORD will repay him for his good deed. Proverbs 19:17

LISTEN : God sees the plight of the poor and needy and we should too. We’re commanded to give generously because we receive everything from God. Sadly, lots of people hate and despise the poor. They dehumanised them because they’re poor. But as a God fearing person, you should be generous to them knowing that God sees everything we do. The Bible says that the poor will not cease in the land (Deut 15:11) , therefore, they should be graciously assisted by all. We should show some pity to those who are destitute and hurting. We should give to others to relieve their pains. God has variously shown us His favours. Therefore, we should extend same to others. We should stop being selfish and begin to be sacrificial. Friend, the day you stop to live just for yourself is the day you have started to live for God. Learn to always consider the poor and needy. God is concerned about them, and so should we. Give to others what you’ll want them give to you. Jesus Christ said, “In everything, treat others as you would want them to treat you, for this fulfill the law and the prophets.” (Matthew 7:12) . Beloved, how will you like others to treat you? Treat them like that too. Be compassionate to the poor, for what you do for them you do to God. Surely, God will repay what you give up to make others comfortable, especially the poor and needy. Learn to be gracious, because being gracious is a mark of godliness. It’s an expression of the nature of God. So, let’s help those who are in need as we have the opportunity today. Be wise!

Prayer : Everlasting Father, help me to remember to support the poor and needy no matter the circumstance, amen!
