Verse Of The Day : Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20

LISTEN : No one can wish away the second coming of Jesus Christ to the world. Surely, He will soon be here. Signs of His coming are everywhere in the world. Beloved, have you accepted Him as your Lord and Saviour? Have you opened the door of your heart to Him? A woman asks her son this question, “Son, if Jesus Christ practically comes knocking on your door now, what will you do?” Her son replied, “Mother, I will gladly open my door to Him and leave it open even after He has gone.” My dear, in the same way, you should gladly receive Jesus into your heart. Your heart is the doorway to your life. This is why the Bible is concerned about the state of our hearts. What happens in your heart can affect your life positively or negatively. We should be conscious of what goes on in our hearts. The Bible says, “Keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” (Proverbs 4:23). My dear, Jesus Christ is standing and knocking at the door of your heart. But one thing is certain, He is not going to stand and knock forever. Either you open your heart now and receive Him by accepting His words, or harden your heart and reject His words. Friend, there are consequences for what you do with the gospel of Christ. Now that the voice of God through His messengers is sounding loud and clear in the streets of the world, television stations, radio stations, pulpits of churches around the world, etc, you should accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour of your life today. For anyone who can’t hear His voice and open his heart to Him has chosen to perish. But that is not God’s plan for your life. He wants to come into your life and abide with you. He wants to bless you both in this life and eternity. However, until you are willing to open your heart to Him you will lose His good plans for your life. Remember, Jesus Christ will soon be here. Be wise!

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Never harden your heart to Jesus Christ, rather let Him in.
2. Guard your heart with all diligence and eschew evil at all costs.
3. Take pleasure in the word of God and know that God is waiting for you to let Him in.
4. Remember that Jesus Christ will not plead with you forever, and that His grace will soon expire.

Prayer : Dear LORD! I thank you for your Son Jesus Christ. I surrender myself to you LORD, and I accept Jesus Christ today as my Lord and Saviour, amen!

Reflection : He or she who chooses to lock up his or her heart against Jesus Christ has chosen to perish.

Quote: “The heart is the doorway to your life. And what goes on in it determines whether life will be saved or lost.”

Bible Verse : I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. Psalms 37:25

LISTEN : A Christian woman was wondering what was happening to her that God seems to have forsaken her. She asked another Christian woman thus : “sister, does God abandon His obedient children? If not, why has He abandoned me?” The sister looked at her with a smile and said, “Sister, you belong to God, right? Then be sure that, God will not forsake you. When you trust in Him and look away from your troubles, He will take care of your burdens and battles.” (Romans 8:31). My dear, God knows those who belong to Him. Therefore, He will not forsake them. Sometimes we tend to think or react as though God has forsaken us; but the truth remains that, God cannot forsake His own. A mere thought of being forsaken does not mean you are actually forsaken. Surely, God will intervene in due time. My dear, do not despair, instead, exercise your faith in God. Both in his youth and adulthood, David wonderfully experienced the faithfulness of God and therefore, has no doubt God will sustain the righteous and his offsprings; for they will not fail to follow God’s principles to be blessed. Beloved, why are you depressed? Why do you choose to worry instead of trusting God? My dear, cheer up! Remember, God will not abandon His obedient children. Be wise!

Prayer : Precious Father, you are good and worthy to be praised. Therefore, help me to trust in you always, in Jesus’ name, amen.
