Verse Of The Day : Fear you not; for I am with you: be not dismayed; for I am your God: I will strengthen you; yea, I will help you; yea, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10

LISTEN : Fear is the prevailing state of affairs around the world today due to the dreaded COVID-19 (coronavirus). Tension is building up everywhere and people’s confidence is obviously collapsing. Yet, God is saying to His people, “Fear not; for I am your God: I will strengthen you; yes, I will help you!” (Isaiah 41:10). But is it possible to remain calm in this kind of situation? Yes! You can be calm if you allow God to calm your heart through His words. He does that when you exercise faith in Him. Taking refuge in Him in a time like this will bring peace to your troubled heart. Yes, faith is the cure for spirit of fear. And the power of faith is the word of God. In the face of true faith, fear is powerless. Where faith abounds fear never survives. My dear, be strong and courageous. Whatever is going on in the world today will soon be history. God is in control. And when you believe it, you can overcome fear by faith. When you walk by faith, fear will suffocate and die in your life. Where faith is enthroned fear will be enslaved. The reign of faith creates terror in the kingdom of fear. Beloved, until you enthrone the Spirit of God in your heart fear will continue to torment your life. So, walk by faith. Until you believe what God says about you, you’ll walk in fear and be tormented by the devil all your life. Please don’t entertain fear, rather walk in the power of God. The Bible says, “For God did not give us a Spirit of fear but of power and love and self-control.” (2 Timothy 1:7). My dear, God has blessed us with His Spirit to live boldly and overcome this wicked world. Spirit of fear is not part of what we received from God. We are designed to be very confident and fearless before danger, and to trust in the ever living and faithful God. So, no matter the news of the spread of the virus, remember that God has promised to be with you. Be wise!

Bible Verse : Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth. Colossians 3:2

LISTEN : Wise people think about life after death. My dear, are you preparing for eternity? Do you know you will not be here someday? Therefore, eternity with God should be your goal and concern. Always meditate on life after here (earth). Reflect on God’s word and let it provoke right decision for eternity. When you think in this direction, God will help you to act wisely. Thoughts trigger actions, and your actions will determine your success or failure in life. It will equally determine where you will spend eternity – heaven or hell. That is why it is vital to direct your thoughts in line with the will of God. In our Bible verse today, we are urged to think about things that are above and not about things that are on the earth. We should constantly desire the blessings that God has prepared for us in heaven. (1 Corinthians 2:9,10). We should bother ourselves with the things of heaven and abstain from evil in the world. Besides, our minds should be consumed with thoughts of “a life with God after our earthly life.” We should always think about our eternal home, a place of peace, free from crisis, heartbreak, sicknesses and diseases, death and sorrow, etc. My dear, will you not want to be part of the eternal bliss of the obedient sons and daughters of God? If you want to be there, then, delight yourself in God. Be wise!

Prayer : Dear Lord, I thank you for your words today. Help me to prepare for eternity. In Jesus’ name.
