Verse Of The Day : O God, you know my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from you. Psalms 69:5

LISTEN : Truth is key to freedom (John 8:32). Knowing the truth is key to discovering how to enjoy real life. One important truth we are yet to understand is that, our sins are not hidden in the eyes of God. Besides, every act of sin is an act of foolishness. Yes, it is hard to see sin as foolishness unless you are spiritually and eternally-minded. Until we acknowledge and confess our sins to God, we are not yet set to walk with Him. And until we are determined to get things right, we will continue to get it wrong. We can’t profess to love God and still be madly in love with sin. When we take pleasure in sin we have chosen to go without God. My dear, what is life without God? Life is an endless journey where God is not the head of the voyage. Life is empty and meaningless without God. The Bible says, For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? (Mark 8:36). My dear, nothing is truly a gain to us until God is the reason for our gain. Beloved, can you rewind your memory and evaluate your life? Are you in right standing with God? By your own assessment, have you done well? Can God be proud of you as His loyal and faithful servant? God wants you to acknowledge and confess your sin to Him and forsake them. Therefore, if your conscience is pricking you right now, it is time to examine your life and repent of your sins. Truly, God knows our foolishness, and our sins are not hidden from Him. But if you return to Him today, He will graciously forgive you. So, make a reasonable confession to God today. Remember, the only place we can possibly hide our sin is in the blood of Jesus Christ. Be wise!

Bible Verse : Now listen to me, I will give you advice, and may God be with you… Exodus 18:19

LISTEN : Wise counsel transforms life. To reject it is to reject success. Jethro, Moses’s father-in-law counseled him on how to go about his leadership to be successful. Though he was not as spiritual as Moses, yet, Moses accepted his counsel as better than the method he already adopted. My dear, no one can truly be successful when wise counsel (advice) is neglected or despised. The wise seeks the right counsel, while the foolish detests and ignores it. The wise believes that no one has the monopoly of knowledge, hence, he listens to what others have to say in a given situation, and apply the counsels received if seen to work better in his situations. But that is not the case with the foolish. He believes that his ideas are enough for him, hence he will always fail woefully. Beloved, do you find it difficult to take advice from other people? Do you feel too big to listen to wise counsels from others? Then, you have a big problem. To excel, learn to humble yourself like Moses, and listen and receive wise counsel from others. Be wise!

Prayer : Dear Lord, help me to accept wise counsel from others and not disregard them, in Jesus’ name, amen.
