Verse Of The Day : David grew greater and greater; for the LORD of hosts, was with him. 2 Samuel 5:10

LISTEN : Troubles may come, but the presence of God suffocates them. When God is with you in trouble, you would ride in the wings of the wind with pleasure. God fights your battles when you walk with Him in obedience and faith. Yes, with God you are unstoppable. Nothing can stop anyone who has the approval of God, for He who God supports He prospers and protects. In our Bible verse today, David grew greater and greater even in times of troubles, because God was with him. He couldn’t have survived the troubles of his life without God. It is so surprising that, in the midst of troubles, rather than grew weaker and hopeless, he grew stronger and stronger. The Bible says, “David grew greater and greater; for the LORD of hosts, was with him.” (2 Samuel 5:10). Our Bible verse explains why David grew greater and greater in the midst of troubles – “for the LORD of hosts, was with him.” So, to grow greater and greater in life you must learn not to walk or work alone. You must walk with God. Your relationship with God will impart you with the following : 1). The ability to learn and exercise wisdom. My dear, you can’t excel without wisdom. Wisdom is the principal thing (Proverbs 4:7). Wisdom simply means, to demonstrate good judgment in a given situation based on knowledge and experience. If you can rightly apply knowledge you can’t fail to go higher in life. But if you are empty of wisdom, you will be bankrupt of excellence. 2). The ability to express the fear of God – the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. As a matter of fact, you are not ready for true success if you are bankrupt of the fear of God. The fear of God is the expression of your honour and reverence to Him. It is the true mark of wisdom. 3). The ability to be readily prepared to Serve – service is the pathway to honour. Where service abounds honour, favour and success will appear. David was full of wisdom, hunger for God, and service to God and humanity. His death came only when he had served his generation well (see Acts 13:36). In the same way, you should learn to serve and you will surely excel. Remember, with God on your side you will excel against all odds. Be wise!

Bible Verse : But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. There is no peace, says my God, to the wicked. Isaiah 57:20-21

LISTEN : Sin is dangerous and destructive. It brings torment and death. Where sin is present conscience will be restless and miserable. Sadly, people cherish and adore sin. My dear, life will become a nightmare when wickedness is cherished and revered. Calm and peace of mind will be lost when wickedness is enthroned. (v21). Truly, evil in the heart of a man will ruin the privilege of enjoying the peace of God. There is no peace for the wicked. The wicked are like the ocean which can never be still. Whether you are watching the ocean from the beach or a boat, you expect to see waves on the horizon with the potential to travel across an entire ocean basin. Most of these waves are hazardous, like the hurricane, tornado, tsunamis, etc. Their waves rise, rage, and tumble about, and beat against the shore and sand, threatening to pass the bounds fixed for them. Like the ocean, the minds of wicked men are unstable and restless through the terrors of conscience for their sins; and the malice and envy towards the prosperity of the righteous in Christ Jesus. The wicked are not in tune with God; hence, God’s judgment is upon them because of their despicable life. (Romans 6:23). However, God is willing to forgive if the wicked is willing to return to Him. So, make a U-turn today and God will forgive you. Be wise!

Prayer : Most Holy God, thank You for the blessings of Your word today. Help me to stay away from sin. In Jesus’ name, amen!
