Verse Of The Day : Then Samuel said to the people, “Don’t be afraid. You have indeed sinned. However, don’t turn aside from the LORD. Serve the LORD with all your heart. 1 Samuel 12:20.

LISTEN : Have you been in a situation where you wonder if God could ever forgive you? My dear, man may refuse to forgive you but God will willingly forgive when you return to Him in obedience (Acts 3:19). God is too righteous to be angry forever towards the penitent. Couple of months ago I told a story about a man known for his unrelenting criminal activities, who approached a certain nobleman of his community and asked him thus, “Sir, will God ever forgive me for all the evil I’ve done against humanity?” The nobleman man replied, “I don’t know, because your sins are numerous.” With much frustration he left the nobleman and went to the church. When he saw the Pastor of the church who has equally known him for his notoriety, he asked him, “Sir, will God ever forgive me for all the evil I’ve done against humanity?” The Pastor smiled and replied, “My dear, God has been waiting for you to return. He will surely forgive you (Psalms 86:5 ; Isaiah 55:7). Only if you won’t go back to your evil ways.” Immediately he screamed, “Pastor, I’m happy! I won’t go back to my vomit.” When the Israelites sinned against God by asking for a King over them. Samuel was displeased, and God was angry too. Yet, Samuel encourage them to stick with God and not backslide because of their sin (1 Samuel 12:12-25). No doubt, sin makes people to lose confidence and feel so unworthy to come to God. But the right time to come to God is when you feel unworthy of His mercy. He will show you mercy when you realise that, you’re not worthy of it. He loves the penitent sinner. He forgives all manner of sin when the sinner comes to Him with all his heart. Yes, the blood of Jesus Christ is powerful enough to cleanse even the worst of sinners. Beloved, when your sin put pressure of guilt on you, repent and cry to God for mercy and restoration. Trust me, if you can repent of your sin, God will lavish His mercy and love on you. Remember, God is waiting for you. Be wise!

Bible Verse : I will sing to the LORD, because he has been good to me. Psalms 13:6

LISTEN : All have tasted the goodness of God, including you and me. To deny this fact is to deny your own existence. Can we ever deny the goodness of God? The universe is evidence of His goodness. Truly, God is good, and His mercy endures forever. (Psalms 136:1-25). He is good to all. No one can deny His goodness to humanity. He created the sun to give heat (warmth) and lighten the day, the moon to lighten the night. Rain to water our vegetations and to produce food enough to sustain us. He blesses us with many water sources (sea, rivers, streams, springs, swamps, lakes, lagoon, oceans, etc.); above all, He blesses us with life. Beloved, your life today is God’s goodness to you. Never take it for granted, or complain about what you think is not good enough in your life. Learn to acknowledge and appreciate the goodness of God no matter what. If you can praise God for what He has done for you no matter how little, He will do the unimaginable for you. David understands how reasonable it is to reciprocate God’s goodness, and he said, “I will sing to the LORD, because he has been good to me.” (Psalms 13:6). Like David, let us sing to the LORD and appreciate Him for all His kindness towards us. My dear, don’t be too ungrateful to appreciate God for His goodness. Be wise!

Prayer : Dear Lord, you are good to me. Therefore, I will forever appreciate your goodness in my life, amen!
