Verse Of The Day : Sing to the LORD! Praise the LORD! For he rescues the oppressed from the clutches of evildoers. Jeremiah 20:13

LISTEN : Our devotional topic yesterday was that, praise triggers the presence of God. Today we will be looking at praise as a trigger for divine deliverance. We now know that praise is offering words of homage as an act of worship to God. When you praise God He will surely respond to you. Praise makes demand on the power of God. Sincere praise from a sincere heart would move God to act. Yes, the heaven cannot keep silent on any issue the earth has fertilised with praise. My dear, genuine praise triggers divine deliverance. The term divine deliverance is the supernatural action of being rescued or set free from bondage. It is the help of God beyond humans. Divine deliverance happens when human ability can no longer do anything else. When all human efforts end in failure, God comes down to help. When we pray and praise God we provoke Him to order deliverance for us. Praise opens prison doors and set captives free (Acts 16:24-26) ; it collapses satanic walls and strongholds and facilitate possession (Joshua 6:1-27). My dear, at the altar of praise the enemy is dislodged and freedom granted to prisoners. Henceforth, determine to truly praise God. For if you can praise, God can intervene in your situations. Be wise!

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Make praise a lifestyle and not an event in your life.
2. Praise God to open every prison door in your life and be free.
3. Never allowed pains, heartbreak, disappointment and the like to steal your heart of praise.
4. Anytime it is hard for you to give praise to God, reflect on His goodness and you will see need for praise.

Bible Verse : And another also said, Lord, I will follow you; but let me first go bid them Farwell, which are at home at my house. And Jesus said unto him, no man having put his hand to the plough and looking back, is fit for the kingdom. Luke 9:61,62.

LISTEN : My dear, keep moving by faith. To faithfully follow Jesus Christ, you must determine never to look back. You must leave the past behind and press towards the mark of the high calling. You must shun every distraction and focus rather on God’s purpose for your life. My dear, God cannot do anything serious with you if you are unstable and disloyal to Him, and He cannot commit to you the treasures of the kingdom either. Surely, anyone who carelessly fluctuates in his conviction and faith in Christ is not fit for the kingdom. Our Bible verse today is about the encounter of Jesus with a man whom he urged to be his disciple, but asked for leave to go bid his relatives farewell first. However, Jesus Christ taught him and everyone a great lesson of commitment with an illustration from farm implement – ‘the plough.’ This farm implement is usually used to pull through the ground in order to break it open into furrows for planting. Here, Christ illustrated with animal-drawn plough. The point he buttressed was that, to seek excuses from kingdom tasks can automatically and eventually render us unfit for the kingdom of God, just the same way an unfocused farmer can make wrong ridges while using the plough. Beloved, be committed to God’s kingdom assignments henceforth. Be wise!

Prayer : Heavenly Father, I thank you for your words today. Help me to press on towards my God-given goals, amen.
