Verse Of The Day : But as for you, if you warn the wicked and he does not turn from his wicked deed and from his wicked lifestyle, he will die for his iniquity but you will have saved your own life. Ezekiel 3:19 (NET)

LISTEN : When God gives instruction He demands obedience. If He sends you to anyone He must have a message He wants you to deliver. You shouldn’t bother yourself when the message is rejected. You’ve done your part. Always do your own part and leave results to God. There are certain things we must continue to do without bothering ourselves about what will be the outcome. One of those things is to preach the gospel of Christ to the unsaved. Only God can truly determine their outcome. If we worry just about outcome, we are likely to decline our participation in what God has called us to do. No doubt, success is the goal of every genuine endeavour. But when we are bothered just about success without considering the role of failure in achieving success, we will surrender to failure when we eventually fail. When effort to save someone fails, it is not time to quit trying, but a time to keep trying until you succeed. Failure motivates the wise to try and try again. Those who succeed are those who once failed, discovered why they failed, and improved on their performances. Failure is part of life ; hence, not to expect failure is not to expect success. Therefore, to succeed as messengers of the gospel of Christ, we should focus on our responsibility (preaching of the gospel), and leave the result (conversion of souls) to God. The command is, “… go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you…” (Matthew 28:19,20). That is our responsibility, but the result comes from God. The Bible says, “… And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved “ (Acts 2:47). Beloved, let us evangelise the unsaved and allow them to choose where they want to spend eternity. Henceforth, take your part in spreading the gospel and allow God to bring the results. Be wise!

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Don’t allow the failure to achieve a result stop you from trying again.

Bible Verse : A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels. Proverbs 1:5

LISTEN : Grow in wisdom and act wisely. Learn and be wise. Wisdom is the delight of the wise. The wise learn how to live and subsequently apply it. The wise never stops learning. They continuously learn to increase in knowledge. Nobody is too learned and wise to stop learning. Learning is a lifetime project. The more you learn, the more you know and become wiser and increase in knowledge. You will become refined and know how to think better and act better when you acquire knowledge. Sadly, a lot of people don’t want to learn new things, because they believe they know everything; as a result, have nothing more to learn from others. (Proverbs 26:12). Friend, never stop learning; instead, labour for more knowledge, especially knowledge about God. Keep searching for knowledge and open your ears and heart to it. You will become better when you acquire and apply true knowledge. As you search for knowledge, strive to know the word of God. The word of God is the source of true wisdom. God’s word brings increase in knowledge. Learning the word of God is the best learning. It is the most profitable and profound knowledge in the earth. Beloved, are you a wise man? Be a good learner and listener and you will increase in learning (James 1:19). Be wise!

Prayer : Dear Lord, help me to learn and grow in wisdom, amen.
