Verse Of The Day : Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me. Psalms 23:4.

LISTEN : Distress puts life under pressure forcing it to want to collapse, and it is worse when we are bankrupt of God’s presence. Absence of God’s presence produces fear. Yes, fear accompanies distress. For when life is threatened, peace of mind tends to struggle for survival. No doubt, it is difficult to stay calm when faced with a great danger, but faith in God can stabilise emotions. What is distress? It is unhappiness or pain: suffering that affects the mind or body: a very difficult situation in which you do not have enough money, food, etc. It is a state of danger and desperate need. We often find ourselves in these situations. Most times, distresses turn the lives of people into a nightmare. And those who couldn’t stand the heat, becomes victims. But the good news is that, you can overcome distress if you believe you can outlast it. David was in distress when he penned our Bible verse today, but believes he will surely overcome. He said, “Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me.” (Psalms 23:4). He truly admitted the fact that he was in great distress, but believes that with God in his side, the situation will end in his favour. Beloved, are you in distress and afraid that, you won’t come out of it? I recommend that you do the following things: 1). Have faith in God and do what you can do, and leave what you can’t do to God. 2). Believe that you can outlast your distress. 3). Refuse to be afraid. 4). Acknowledge God’s presence around you. 5). Follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. 6). Surrender yourself to the discipline of God. 7). And finally, be strong and courageous and trust God to help you. David said, “In the time of my fear, I will have faith in you.”(Psalms 56:3). My dear, take your eyes off your fears, and fix them on God. Be wise!

Bible Verse : Blessed is that man that makes the LORD his trust, and respects not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. Psalms 40:4

LISTEN : Make God your trust. He who puts his trust in God will not be scared of any evil. A little child cannot be scared of his mother. As a matter of fact, he expresses trust in her. Even when his mother playfully throws him in the air, he is not afraid of any damage, because he knows that his mother will not allow him to land himself on the ground. He knows that the loving and compassionate hands of his mother will safely catch him. He’s so much trusted his mother that he is no more afraid of any evil. In the same way, you should trust God. God will protect and bless those who trust in Him. He will exalts those who value His presence in their lives. Beloved, make God your fortress. Do not be afraid of the wicked, proud and liars who have no fear of God; or regard their threats. Our God is mighty and supreme and will defend you always. Therefore, no matter the circumstance, always put your trust in the living God and you will not be put to shame. Be wise!

Prayer : Everlasting God, you are faithful and dependable. Therefore, I will continue to put my trust in you always, in Jesus’ name, amen.
