Verse Of The Day : So I saw that there is nothing better than for a man to have joy in his work–because that is his reward…Ecclesiastics 3:22

LISTEN : Working with passion fills the heart with joy and makes labour pleasurable. Yes, passion is the wheel with which purpose runs. However, passion cannot be sustained without having joy in what you do. The day you begin to hate what you do, your passion for it begins to die. It will be practically impossible to achieve your goals if you are bankrupt of passion and joy. A lot of people set goals but do not reach those goals because they lack passion. They often abandon their goals as a result of distractions, impatience and lack of courage to persevere all the way. Beloved, you cannot be fulfilled until you have done well. So, how are you pursuing your goals? Apostle Paul reveals helpful information on how to reach our goals. He says, “I do not consider myself to have attained this. Instead I am single-minded: Forgetting the things that are behind and reaching out for the things that are ahead, with this goal in mind, I strive toward the prize…” (Philippians 3:13-14). He (Paul) mentioned singleness of purpose, determination and focus as what has helped him to accomplish his God-given goals. He disengaged with his past and focused on the future. Beloved, is your past filled with regrettable experiences? Is your past trying to take the best of you? Please don’t allow it. To reach your goal you must be focused, determined, single-minded and have faith in God. Besides, you should be happy in your works. Let your career, occupation, profession, etc., make you happy. My dear, you cannot make any meaningful progress in life until you are happy with your works. If what you do brings you joy, you will not lack the zeal to keep pushing until your labour is rewarded. Be wise!

Bible Verse : Neither murmur all of you, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. 1 Corinthians 10:10

LISTEN : Lots of people find joy in murmuring against God than being grateful for His love and goodness. My dear, it is evil and dangerous to murmur against God. To murmur is to express grief, pain, or discontent: it is to say something that expresses annoyance or unhappiness. Murmuring against God is satanic. It is an expression of lack of faith in God. It is a way of telling God that you do not trust Him and His promises. God brought the children of Israel out of slavery in the land of Egypt, but rather than have faith in God when they were confronted with lack of water, hunger and starvation, they murmured against God and His servants, Moses and Aaron; and wished they (the Israelites) had died in the land of Egypt instead of bringing them to die in the wilderness. (Exodus 16:2-3;17:2). Besides, when some of the spies sent to explore the land of Canaan returned with evil report of the land, the congregation wept all night and doubted God’s ability to bring them to the land of promise (Canaan). God was angry with the Israelites, and the destroying angel destroyed the people involved (Numbers 14:35-37). Beloved, you are warned not to tread the same path to destruction. Henceforth, never murmur against God. Be wise!

Prayer : Dear Lord, you are good and has good plans for me. Therefore, help me to be content with you and to avoid murmuring against you, amen!
