Verse Of The Day : … and whoso breaks an hedge, a serpent shall bite him. Ecclesiastics 10:8

LISTEN : Be wise not to expose yourself to satanic attacks and manipulations. God protects His people, however, His people must stay under His coverage to sustain their protection. As a matter of fact, we lose our divine protection when we walk outside of the will of God; but we are firmly secured when we walk in obedience and faithfulness to God. He who is under the protection of God can never be destroyed by the devil. Yes, no matter how hungry or angry a lion might be, it can never devour a prey that is living in a stronghold. It can only move round and round trying to grab it, but can never touch it, because of the protection that is built around it. Same applies to God’s obedient children. One day, I was sitting outside at home, and watched a fowl struggling with a standing transparent bottle full of groundnuts. The fowl moved round and round pecking the bottle repeatedly in desperation and frustration, but could not access it. Rather than eat the groundnuts, the groundnuts became the fowl’s frustration. And I asked myself, “What if these grains of groundnut were spread on the ground? Would the fowl not have eaten them up?” With that experience I learned a great lesson about divine protection. Beloved, this is how you are protected when you hide yourself in God. (John 10:28-30; Psalms 125:2). Anything hidden in God is hidden out of the reach of the enemy; for who God protects the devil cannot devour. The devil cannot succeed with you except you break the hedge (God’s protection) around your life. A hedge is something that provides protection or defence. My dear, when you decide to walk in disobedience to God you have chosen to expose yourself to the devil. The Bible says, “… and whoso breaks an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.” (Ecclesiastics 10:8). So, walk in the fear of God and you will abide under His shadow; walk in disobedience to Him and you will be bitten by the serpent – the devil. Be wise!

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Never open up yourself to the devil through disobedience, instead obey God no matter what.
2. Abide in Christ Jesus and continue to serve the purpose of His kingdom on the earth.
3. Never be in enmity with God, rather work hard to build a warm relationship with Him.
4. Confess your sin to God and receive His forgiveness and determine to walk in newness of life.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, You are my rock and hiding place. Help me to abide in you and walk in obedience to your words, and remain in your love now and forever, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Bible Verse : But the one who hates his fellow Christian is in the darkness, walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes. 1John 2:11

LISTEN : Oneness is the power of a successful family. We become glorious when we unite for a common goal. We’re one glorious and happy family in Christ Jesus no matter our background, colour, size, race, etc., and should be bound together in love. As Christians we belong to God through Christ Jesus. But we cannot understand this fact until we put on the new nature – the nature of God. My dear, love is the nature of God(1 John 4:8). We can’t walk in love at the same time hate one another. Besides, we can’t claim to worship God if there’s no love for Him and humanity (1John 4:20,21). Love for humanity, especially those who belong to God is pleasing to Him. We should love others dearly and unconditionally. We should show interest in the well-being of others and make sacrifices towards their well-being. That’s the nature of God. God is love and does everything in love. Therefore, once we have received His love as His children, He expects us to love others just the same way he loves us and not hate them. The Bible says,“Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love” (1 John 4:8). Beloved, let’s love one another for we’re one family in Christ Jesus. Be wise!

Prayer : Everlasting Father, I thank you for loving me unconditionally. Therefore, help me to love others, in Jesus’ name, amen.
