Verse Of The Day : And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saves not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD’s, and he will give you into our hands. 1 Samuel 17:47

LISTEN : When God fights for you, the enemy is defeated before his actual defeat. So, fear not, because God lives! Do not surrender to threats to your life, rather have faith in God. My dear, what is your threat? Everyone has what threatens him or her. However, every threat can be overcome when our eyes are fixed on God (Mark 9:23 ). We build confidence and courage when we depend on God for strength (1 Samuel 30:6). To King Saul, his army and the people of Israel, Goliath the Philistine from Gad was a national threat. He repeatedly challenged the army of Israel, not knowing that with such impudence, God was up against him. He trusted the power of their god, Dagon; his own strength in battle, his arsenal and age long victories; as a result, he believes that the Israelites, the people of God will be like one of his victims. Sadly, King Saul and the army of Israel were afraid of him. They were scared by his incessant threats. No one was courageous enough to confront him because he was dreaded by all. But when David visited the battle field, he could not bear the insult and humiliation that was meted out to his people and his God, as a result, he volunteered to fight the dreaded Goliath and eventually defeated him with just a stone from his sling.

The question is, why was he not afraid of Goliath like others? How was he able to defeat him without a sword or a bow and arrow in his hands? Why was he not affected by what others feared? David was not afraid of Goliath because God was on his side (Psalms 118:6). He believes in the power of God, and understands that victory is possible with God (Proverbs 21:31). My dear, are you conquering your fears or being conquered by it? Surely, no one wins until he believes winning is possible. Unlike other soldiers of Israel, David believed Goliath was defeatable, and therefore defeated him without a sword. In the same way, you can overcome your fears if you will look beyond your strength, and seek the strength of God. Beloved, exalt God in your heart and grow in faith and your fears will vanish. Be wise!

Bible Verse : If we live, we live for the Lord; if we die, we die for the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. Romans 14:8

LISTEN : God owns all things, including human lives. So, are you living for God or just for yourself? Those who live for God also lives for the well-being of others. They know their lives revolve around God. Unfortunately, there are many who claim to serve God today, but only few truly belongs to God. Only few are committed to Him whether dead or alive. It is quite hard today to see people who declare their loyalty to God and stay committed to Him. A lot of people are no longer living for God but for themselves. They place their own interests and opinions above God’s. Beloved, those who choose to place their own interests above God’s will wander into the wilderness of frustration, heartbreak and emptiness. As a wise person, you should strive to glorify God with your life. You should endeavour to live for God and not just for yourself. If you are living just for yourself, you are living merely for nothing. (Mark 8:36,37). So, do not abandon or ignore God. He who abandons God to pursue the world will eventually discover that he has laboured in vain. Surely, those who live in this life just to please themselves at the expense of God, will exit this world to mourn and groan forever in hell. Think about it. Be wise!
