Verse Of The Day : David grew greater and greater; for the LORD of hosts, was with him. 2 Samuel 5:10

LISTEN : “You can grow stronger and stronger despite obstacles if God is with you”, says a man to his son. The presence of God swallows up every hindrance and strengthens God’s chosen one. My dear, nothing can stop anyone who has the approval of God, for He who God supports He prospers and protects. In our Bible verse today, David grew greater and greater even in times of troubles, because God was with him. He couldn’t have survived the troubles of his life without God. It is so surprising that, in the midst of troubles, rather than grew weaker and hopeless, he grew stronger and stronger. The Bible says, “David grew greater and greater; for the LORD of hosts, was with him.” (2 Samuel 5:10). Our Bible verse explains why David grew greater and greater in the midst of troubles – “for the LORD of hosts, was with him.” So, to grow greater and greater in life, here are what you should do: 1). Exercise Wisdom – you can’t excel without wisdom. You should demonstrate good judgment in every given situation based on knowledge and experience. To excel, apply wisdom in every aspect of your life – health, academics, marriage, career, ministry, etc. 2). Express The Fear Of God – the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. As a matter of fact, you are not ready for true success if you are bankrupt of the fear of God. The fear of God is the expression of your honour and reverence to Him. It is the true mark of wisdom. There is no wisdom in anyone who lacks the fear of God; and 3). Employ The Heart of Service – service is the pathway to honour. Where service abounds honour, favour and success will appear. David was full of wisdom, hunger for God, and service to God and humanity (see Acts 13:36). In the same way, you should learn to serve and you will surely excel. Remember, with God you can grow stronger and stronger. Be wise!

Bible Verse : For you have armed me with strength for the battle. You have subdued under me those who rose up against me. 2 Samuel 22:40

LISTEN : God gives victory to his embattled saints. Yes, He is with His people. We belong to Him. He is the hand behind our every victory. Therefore, you should acknowledge Him as your Saviour and source of strength. In our Bible verse, David acknowledged and revered God as his deliverer, stronghold and source of strength. (2 Samuel 22:40). He acknowledged and praised God as the hand behind his victory over all his enemies, including King Saul. (2 Samuel 22:1-3). David made it through the storm of his life because his hope was in the living God. In spite of his trials and afflictions he could boldly say, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me.”(Psalms 23:4). Friend, do not be afraid, rather put your hope in God and you will make it through the storm of your life. Remember, the hands of God is with you to give you victory. Remember, victory comes from God. Be wise!

Prayer : Everlasting God, thank you for arming me with strength for battle, and victory over the enemy, in Jesus’ name, amen.
