Verse Of The Day : In everything, treat others as you would want them to treat you, for this fulfills the law and the prophets. Matthew 7:12

LISTEN : A woman with the aim of teaching her only child a lesson of life, deliberately decided to treat him unfairly and unfriendly for a couple of weeks. The boy became so uncomfortable and frustrated and then asked his mother, “Mother, tell me the truth. Are you truly my mother?” His mother smiled and said, “Son, I am your mother. I am only making you feel how others would feel when you hurt them. So son, if you don’t like it, don’t do it to others.” Lots of people tend to be cool with treating others the way they don’t want to be treated by others. They can gladly hurt others but hate to be hurt by others. They love to be inhumane toward others but want everyone to be humane to them. One may ask, “What exactly could make people act like that?” The answer is simple, it’s lack of love, selfishness and lack of fear of God. Where these three ungodly lifestyles are present, nothing counts except self. The desire to please self can bury the command to love others. When all you care about is to please yourself, working for the well-being of others will mean nothing to you. My dear, let’s walk in love. Walking in love will not be difficult if we acknowledge that, God is love (1John 4:8). God wants us to treat others with love, the same way we’ll want them to treat us. He wants us to present before everyone what is honourable and acceptable. Let’s stop treating others like they’re worthless and begin to treat them with dignity because their life is worthwhile. If we respect God’s word we can’t neglect to do what He directs us to do. Therefore, let’s love others with the love of God and give to them what we desire to receive from them in return. Remember, if you don’t like it, don’t give it. Be wise!

Bible Verse : Whoso keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps his soul from troubles. Proverbs 21:23

LISTEN : Wise people watch what they say. They are careful with their words. So, be wise with your own words. Our Bible text says, “Whoso keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps his soul from troubles.” (Proverbs 21:23). Don’t be part of the many who talk carelessly to their own destruction. Never say things about others that you can’t defend; don’t say things that are too high for you. Know when to talk and when to keep silent. The Bible warns us to guard our mouths against wrong use of words. Beloved, if you can’t manage your words you can’t manage your life. If you are still struggling with the control of your tongue, then you are breeding on dangerous waters. My dear, keep your mouth and you will live; let it loose and you will be doomed. Henceforth, let your tongue save lives and not waste them. Be wise!

Prayer : Dear Lord, help me to guard my mouth and tongue always in Jesus’ name, amen.
