Verse Of The Day : Be sober and alert. Your enemy the devil, like a roaring lion, is on the prowl looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8

LISTEN : The devil has not cease to deceive and destroy people. Who he was in Eden, is who he is today. (Genesis 3). So, be wary of his tricks. To be wary is to feel or show caution about possible dangers or problems. My dear, open your eyes. The devil is out to deceive. Couple of months ago, I told a story about a man who gathered his children on his dying bed and said, “My children, don’t forget that life is a running battle, and that your victory to an extent is determined by your actions. Therefore, be serious-minded, careful and watchful; for you could be attacked by your enemies when you least expect it. But when you are prepared and well equipped, you cannot be defeated.” My dear, this counsel applies to everyone of us. The devil is out to deceive and destroy the careless and unprotected. The careless and unprotected are those who have no relationship with God. Without a relationship with God, you cannot secure His protection for your life. And if God cannot protect you, you are a prey to the devil, ‘the roaring lion.’ But the lion cannot devour a prey that is protected. In the same way, the devil cannot defeat or destroy anyone whose source of strength is of God. With God, you can conquer the devil. When you adhere strictly to the words of God, the devil cannot make you a pushover. Therefore, to overcome in the battles of life, you should realize that, vigilance is required in spiritual warfare. You must not forget that you have an unrelenting enemy, the devil; and that, you cannot overcome him if you are empty of faith (Ephesians 6:16; Hebrews 11:33). Therefore, walk in faith, rely on the grace of God; submit to God and resist the devil and he will flee. Be wise!

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Constantly resist the devil and he will flee from you.
2. Walk with God and rely on His grace and not on your strength.
3. Don’t be careless with your life, rather be vigilant and prayerful.
4. Don’t relent on your fight of faith, rather fight until you see the crown of life on your head.

Prayer : Dear Lord, you are the reason for my victory. Therefore, help me to serve and worship you for the rest of my life, amen.

Reflection : Carelessness exposes you to danger and leaves you unprotected.

Quote : “He who dines with the devil has thrown caution to the wind; and he who throws caution to the wind must expect an ambush.”

Faith Confession : In Jesus’ name, I declare that I believe in God. Therefore, the devil cannot make me a pushover, amen!

Biblical Fact : Did you know that when the Philistines captured the ark of God from the Israelites, they brought and set it by Dagon their god? (1 Samuel 5:2).

Today In History : January 9, 2005 Mahmoud Abbas wins election to replace Yasser Arafat as President of the Palestinian National Authority.

Stunning Fact : Did you know the electric toothbrush was invented in 1939?

A Word Of Blessing : Today, I speak on your life. May God grant you victory in every battle. May you not be put to shame, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Bible Verse : Woe unto him that strives with his Maker… Shall the clay say to him that fashions it, What make you? or your work, He has no hands? Isaiah 45:9

LISTEN : God is our maker. He is sovereign and deserves reverence. Hence, it is baseless, shameful, disrespectful and a display of insanity to quarrel with God your creator. What is man to murmur and query God about how He created us. Rather than complain about your inabilities or deficiencies, why not focus on what you can do to improve on your life. Arguing and blaming God for anything or everything is a dangerous thing to do. Our Bible verse says, “Woe unto him that strives with his Maker!…” (Isaiah 45:9). The New Living Translation of the Bible puts it this way, “What sorrow awaits those who argue with their Creator. Does a clay pot argue with its maker? Does the clay dispute with the one who shapes it, saying, ‘Stop, you’re doing it wrong!’ Does the pot exclaim, ‘How clumsy can you be?’” Beloved, you are not a mistake. Your condition cannot hinder you either. Just make up your mind to be useful. If there is a willing heart, no matter your condition, you can achieve what many people cannot achieve in their completeness. So, stop making your life miserable, and never put up a baseless argument against God. Be wise!

Prayer : Dear Lord, help me to not murmur or argue with you about what you have done, or doing in my life, amen.
