Verse Of The Day : And let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went. Genesis 35:3

LISTEN : A poor man met a very wealthy man who transformed his life just within a period of one year. Before his miraculous transformation from penury to prosperity, he made a lot of promises to the wealthy man who made him rich. He begins to swim in affluence and influence. But not too long, he forgot all the promises and turned his back on his benefactor. One day, his benefactor (the wealthy man) met him and asked him, “My dear, you seem to have forgotten how I protected you, provided for you and made you who you are; is this how you are going to pay me back?” Beloved, this is how most us treat God. We take his kindness and protection for granted and treat him with disdain. (2 Chronicles 32:25). My dear, we should acknowledge his favours in our lives. Remember how he healed our sicknesses and diseases; how he protected and provided for us; how he delivered us from troubles, etc. We should go back to him in worship. That was exactly what Jacob did. (Genesis 35:2-5). When he was running away from his embittered brother Esau. God protected him all the way and led him by his presence. In one occasion God appeared to him and assured him of guaranteed security. (Genesis 28:13-16). And when all the battles were over, God spoke to him and asked him to go to Bethel and live there and build an altar to him. For all that God did for him, he was asking just for Jacob to dedicate himself to him. My dear, it is not too much for God to ask for worship and dedication from his creation. Jacob obeyed God and dedicated his family and they journey to Bethel to worship God. My dear, what about you? Can’t you dedicate yourself and family to worship God today? Henceforth, never forget what the Lord has don for you. Instead, dedicate yourself and yours to him. Be wise!

LISTEN : My dear, drop your worries at the feet of Christ. Yes, God loves you and wants to help you. But you must let Him in. You must cast your burdens on Him by faith. We are not serving a God who is inconsiderate and insensitive to the sufferings of His people; rather, we are serving the God who cares about His people. The God that feels the pain and needs of His people. He created us for His own glory, and therefore will sustain us. And because He created us and gives us life daily, therefore, we should also allow Him take care of all the things that we are worried about. Why should you doubt God’s ability to meet your needs?
